Third and Fourth Grade Work

I don’t want to overwhelm you with posts, but I just want to clarify things as questions come up.

The color coded suggested activities schedule is a guide for you to follow. Ms. Cibasek and I coordinated as a third grade team, but there are still things fourth grade can utilize.

Spelling for example is focusing on a pattern, so it works for both grades. I will be posting some specific activities for next week, but the students know how to make connections with other words with the same pattern.

Readworks and Freckle are tailored to your child’s reading level not grade level necessarily.

Zearn for Math, that goes with our Eureka Math series is based on your child’s grade level. Fourth Grade is working on the Module they would be working on in Mrs. Moon’s math class. Third Grade is working on the Math we would be doing in my Math Class. The videos are great for learning each lesson and I can monitor the lessons your child is currently working on.

Mystery Science (depending on what activities the site allows) can be concepts from the specific grade level. Both grades will be studying Government and Economics, so using those websites including Moby Max will help as well.

Writing–Each child has chosen an informational topic to research and then write a 4 paragraph essay.

On Sunday night I will post the activities for the week and then if you or your child would like to use the suggested activities that is great too!

These are only suggestions, so please no stress or worries. I am already so impressed with everyone!!

An Idea…

There are so many people out there helping others! I know many of you know nurses and doctors that are working in the hospitals to help those who are sick during this time. I was recently walking with a friend of mine whose sister is a nurse. Her sister said that she is going on her 22nd straight day of work. I thought it would be nice if we could send cards to say thank you, we appreciate your work…..etc.

If you are interested in doing something like that, I know it would make her very happy. You could create something on a google doc and share it with me. You could even do short google slides and then I can forward them to her. This can be your Art time!! Use words, pictures—I know that you are super creative!! Even though this is for one nurse, I am sure she will share with the others she works with at the hospital.

Maybe we can make this a start of something each week…..

What do you think??

Social Studies Update

For Social Studies, third graders can use the Michigan book link on the spreadsheet of suggested activities. The topic is Economics. Fourth graders you can use that link as well, since we will also be doing Economics.

You can also login to Moby Max for Social Studies (or other subjects too). Fourth graders you can go to U. S. and also learn about Government. You can login through Clever!

Thank you Lara for trying it out and letting me know!

Hurray!! I have worked out the Readworks issues. I am so sorry for all the posts about this, but I wanted to fix this for you. I know this is already stressful, so…….

The code for readworks is H7BFBQ and students go to Alabakoff’s Robots. Part of the issue was that I also tutor some kids and that is a different session which probably caused confusion for your child. I deleted the other class and that should make it much easier!

Thank you for your patience!!

Questions

If you are trying to get into Mystery Science, parents can put in their email to create the account. It is free right now. That is a little easier than if I give out my information.

If you are having Readworks issues, try using Moby Max for now. You can also do Social Studies on there as well.

Hope this helps! For the record you are doing great!
