Detroit Symphony Field Trip to Stout.   Bring bag lunch.

Free Pancake Dinner–Hosted by the PTA and Teachers.  Come enjoy a free meal cooked by the teachers.   5:30-7:30.   (Previous postings may have had an incorrect time).

Welcome Back to school!  I hope you enjoyed a happy, relaxing break together.  I know I did!!

Thank you for the amazing gifts!  It was so incredibly thoughtful.  Your child should be bringing home a note of thanks!  Be sure to ask them!

Reminders:

Thank you to all have sent in gifts for me (I have sent notes with the kids).  Your generosity warms my heart.   I feel so fortunate to have such great kids and families.   I told the kids that my gift is having them in my class.  I am looking forward to 2019!

Friday–Class holiday celebration starting at 1:15, along with class gift exchange.  Please send in a wrapped gift, no more than $5.  Boys bring a boy gift, girls bring a girl gift.

It is that time of year for us to have our holiday party.  To help celebrate I am asking that every student bring in a wrapped gift worth about $5 (Five Below is a great source).  Girls will purchase a gift for a girl and boys will buy for a boy.  Please send in these gifts by Thursday, December 20th to be placed under our tree in the room.

Dec 3rd Week of December 4-7

A big thank you to the parents who joined us on the field trip to the Howell Nature Center!  We all had a wonderful time!

Also thanks goes out to those who donated a book to our classroom library from the book fair!  The students are very excited to have some new books in the classroom.  It really is greatly appreciated!

Coming Up……

We are coming close to the end of our Module 2 in Math.  It is a very short module and the students have been doing well with it.  We most likely will be having the assessment of Friday.  Look for the study guide coming home at the beginning of the week.  We will be reviewing in class as well.  Just a reminder that if you see exit tickets coming home with “fix” on them, your child should correct those (with your help if needed) and return them to school.  This is a good way for students to learn from their mistakes and grasp the material.

Soon there will be a signup genius for our holiday celebration.  The sing-a-long is on December 21st, so our celebration will be after lunch and before the singing.  Details to follow.

Nov 29th Pajama Day

Since we were on the field trip and we missed pajama day, students are able to wear their pajamas tomorrow!

Nov 29th Field Trip

On today’s field trip the bus had some mechanical issues, and cell phone signals are inconsistent in this area. Luckily the kids had a great time and we are so thankful we were able to reschedule this trip for them!

Nov 19th A Couple Things

Math tests will be coming home as soon as possible.  We have a couple kids who are doing make-ups.  We have begun Module 2 though, and a Math News page is coming home.  I told the kids to put this on  their refrigerator to keep and refer to as necessary.  It should be very helpful to you as parents as well.  It explains the different things we are doing in this module.  I hope it helps!

Traffic Safety note is coming home for both you and your child to sign.  Students receive a penguin point when it is brought back.

Lastly, have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.  Enjoy the break!
