Volunteers Needed

Traditionally, 4th grade parents help with the 5th grade promotion ceremony by serving drinks and snacks in the cafeteria following the ceremony.  We are looking for volunteers!  This is not a long commitment and it is a good way for 4th grade parents to see what they will do for the following year.  The help is greatly appreciated!  Many thanks in advance!

Camp!

Camp permission slips and deposit are due by this Thursday.  We currently do not have near enough to attend next year.  If you have concerns or questions pls. don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Ranka or Courtright.  It would be a shame to put a stop to this 20 year tradition.

Thank you! Thank you!

I know it is only Tuesday, but I wanted to say thank you so much to the PTA and the kids for all the treats thus far!  The breakfast was amazing and just now a cart showed up at my door with lots of goodies.  What a nice surprise!

Thank you also to all those who sent flowers and special treats.  The flowers have really brightened the room and I will definitely enjoy all the delicious snacks!

I am so grateful for all of your kids!  I am lucky to be their teacher!

Thanks again!

Chaperones Needed!

We are in need of chaperones for our Science Center trip.  Currently we only have two–thank you to Mr. Lehto and Mrs. Hicks!   I completely understand that it is difficult at times to chaperone, especially when parents have to take the day off work.  Please know that it is greatly appreciated and chaperones really help to make the trip go smoothly.  If you are able to chaperone, please send me a note to let me know.   The Science Center is super fun too 🙂

Dear DuVall Community,

Our annual Veteran’s Hospital trip is scheduled for Friday, May 10th (2nd graders).   This is a wonderful experience for both our students and parents, one that we all look forward to.  The success of this field trip relies on everyone’s help and community efforts to make it such a rewarding experience.  We will need parent volunteers to pick up fruit, cut cellophane, cut ribbons, fill the baskets, and drive the baskets to Veteran’s Hospital.  The schedule will be as follows:

Wednesday, May 8th: pick up cases of fruit from stores, markets, etc.

Thursday, May 9th: fill the fruit baskets all day

Friday, May 10th:  deliver the fruit baskets (2nd Graders)

This will be a busy time, but the more community members that become involved the more successful this trip will be.  A “Sign-Up Genius” will be coming out so you can sign up to help, but if it doesn’t come to you, you can still volunteer.  Please just tell the office, Mrs. Burke, Ms. Sims or your classroom teacher what you would like to do.

Please sign up on the Sign-Up Genius below:
