Online Work

How is everyone doing with their reading and online work? I noticed some of you started on Freckle! Great Job! Don’t forget about your Readworks. Everyone should make sure to start on the work on Monday! I am going to be checking up on you!

Remember also 20 minutes of reading everyday—you can keep a reader’s response log as well and show me when you return. You can email me with questions or even just to let me know how you are doing.

Play scrabble, bananagrams or yahtzee too!

Online Learning

With the sudden closure, I am attaching a link of resources for your student to access. I encourage playing games together, watching Schoolhouse Rock and Magic School Bus videos on youtube, along with reading daily and accessing these resources. Please email me if you have any questions.

A Few Things….

Due to the snow days (I hope you enjoyed them!) , the Spelling test and Mid-Module Assessment for Third grade has been pushed back. We will continue with our Word Work activities with our Spelling words and have the test on Friday.

Third Grade Mid-Module Assessment will be on Tuesday. Students worked on the review today and will finish it over the weekend. They also have a quiz attached that they can use for review as well. Any support you can provide is great! We will check together on Monday and the assessment will be on Tuesday.

Next week reminders:

Monday — March is Reading Month Kickoff Assembly 2 p.m.

Tuesday — Safety meeting in the morning 8:15. Please bring your belts.

Thursday — Literacy Night 5 p.m.

Have a great weekend!

Pennies for Patients

The preliminary counting has begun and the students (and families) have been doing a great job collecting. You may turn in money until Friday! So please keep sending in those coins (or bills lol). We would like to meet our school goal.

Once again—GREAT JOB!!

Valentine Celebration

Students may bring in Valentine cards to pass on Friday afternoon. They can put names on the cards if they prefer. They should have one for each person in the class. Some students took a class list so they can write names. Others chose not to–which is fine too!

We will be having pizza in the afternoon, since we won the box tops competition (Thank you PTA)! It will be a shorter low key afternoon because the students have gym. Students will just be passing Valentines and enjoying the time. If your child wants to bring a treat, they may, but it isn’t necessary.

Happy Valentine’s Day and have a wonderful winter break!

PBIS Reward

As part of our PBIS celebration, we will be having an electronic day (not the whole day lol)! Students who have been following PBIS expectations for the month will be allowed to bring in electronics of their choice with your permission. They will be allowed to play school appropriate games. I will be keeping the electronics at my desk to make sure they stay safe. If you do not feel comfortable sending them, students can use the chromebooks in the classroom!

Third grade end of module 3 assessment!

Test for the end of the module will be tomorrow (Wednesday). Students have two review pages. One they worked on yesterday and we checked and went over today. The other review was also completed in class. It is the same as the first, just some information changed for extra review.

Tutoring

Several students received permission slips to attend before school tutoring in either math, reading or both.  Please ask your child if he/she received one so that you may sign the permission slip and have it returned by Friday.  Tutoring begins next week!
