Electronic Day

As part of our classroom monthly PBIS reward, students will be able to use their electronics for a period of time tomorrow.  I will be keeping them at my desk so they are safe and secure.   We also discussed that they will be playing appropriate games for school and I will be monitoring.  If your child is not able to bring a device and they are participating in the reward, he/she will be able to use a chromebook.

Lansing

Thank you to all parents who volunteered to chaperone the Lansing trip in June.  Unfortunately, we can only take 5, so Mr. Attee pulled names.  Those parents who were chosen will be notified with a note in the planner.  There will be other opportunities for chaperones in the future as we get closer to the end of the year.

Thanks again for the awesome support!

(No Title)

Hi Parents:
You should have received two important fliers in your child’s backpack.  First was a form for our Family Luau.  Please come dressed in your Hawaiian outfits and enjoy friends, light appetizers and dancing.  Pizza will be served for $1 per slice.  Its $25 per Duvall Family ($5 extra per non Duvall students) You will receive a complimentary Lei at the door and a keepsake photo with your family!
Second, we sent home a form for End-of-school T-Shirts.  Can you believe its almost over?  The shirts are $10 each for youth sizes and $11 for adult sizes.  The shirt has a list on the back of our last 6 fun events to end the school year.  Each grade has been assigned a different color and they can wear their t-shirt to all of these events!  It will be great to help distinguish grades! We would love to see each child with one!  Forms are due back by Thursday April 27th so we can get them in time for our first event!
Thank you for all your support!!

Lansing Trip

Reminder:

Lansing field trip permission slip and money due by Friday.  We are sending the slip now because we have to pay for the Bianco Bus (many thanks to the PTA for helping to cover the cost of the bus!).  If you marked that you wanted to chaperone and sent in money for yourself and your child and you are not chosen to chaperone, the money will be returned.  Mr. Attee will be choosing the names out of hat once we have the slips turned in.  We are only allowed a certain amount in our touring group, so that is why choosing names is necessary.  We will take lots of pictures and Mr. Attee can post them on the blog as well!

Thank you for your cooperation!

PTA News

Happy Monday Everyone!

As I’m sitting here typing this letter, I hear birds chirping outside and I’m watching the news as the meteorologist reports we will possibly see some snow today. Anyone else over this crazy weather? I packed away our snow boots and pants weeks ago! There’s no way I’m bringing them back out! If you ever hear me complaining about it being too hot this summer, please pinch me😉.

I wanted to remind you all that during our next PTA meeting that takes place Tuesday May 8th, we will be nominating and electing our 2018-2019 PTA Officers. Those positions include; President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Fundraiser, Memberships and Curriculum. Each current officer may be re-elected if nominated and if they’re interested in continuing on for the next school year. Each board member MUST be nominated and voted in by PTA members. No one is ever automatically voted in as a PTA board member because there is a lack of nominees or votes. If there is no interest shown in a position then that position is simply left as vacant. In case a vacancy occurs in the office of president, the first vice president shall serve notice of the election.

Officers shall be elected by ballot in the month of May. However, if there is but one nominee for any office, election for that office may be by voice vote. Officers shall assume their official duties at the close of the meeting in June, and shall serve for a term of one year and shall remain in office until their successors assume office. You must be present during the meeting to vote, nominate or become a nominee and be a current PTA member.

If you have any further questions regarding the election process or the duties of the officers, please feel free to contact me at any time!

*Join us for our May meeting for a chance to win a Gift Card! You must be present to win*

Thank you all for your continued support!

Have a great week!
