Last Week!!
First, I for this week I am hoping to get my Secret Zoo book from school that I was reading aloud with the kids, so I can record some read alouds and finish the book. I want them to know what happens and they love the book! I will post if I can record them!
Can you believe this is our last week?? I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support during this strange time with transition to online learning. Thank you to parents for helping to make learning at home successful. I know it wasn’t easy, but everyone jumped in to help and it has been so important for your child’s learning. Students have done an amazing job learning in a new way and I am so very proud of them. Although I am disappointed I could not end the year in person, I feel confident that the growth I have seen will continue. I have learned a lot along with the kids, and I am sure that you as parents have as well.
Please be sure to continue with the learning over the summer. If kids are reading and doing some sort of math, science etc., they will benefit greatly! They can cook with you and do math, find cool science experiments to explore, use some of the sites we have used to practice reading strategies. Read those awesome chapter books! Just some suggestions that are completely optional, but helpful.
Below are the websites that are still free over the summer if you would like to continue practicing over the summer:
Readworks —https://www.readworks.org
Storyline online — https://www.storylineonline.net
Raz kids will run out eventually, but use it until you can’t 🙂
Zearn–https://www.zearn.org
Freckle —https://student.freckle.com
Mystery Science–https://www.mysteryscience.com
I believe EPIC will still be free if you register for a parent account.
Students could also use their Math books to practice sprints and also finish the modules.
I hope this is helpful! Please let me know if you have any questions. I check my email periodically over the summer, so let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
Enjoy a wonderful summer with your family and stay safe!! It has been a pleasure getting to know all of you. Hopefully we will see each other face to face in the Fall!
I will miss all of you!
