Week of March 23-27
I decided to break down this week into subjects with activity ideas and assignments. I am hoping this is easier for everyone. I am able to check their progress on Readworks, Zearn and Freckle, so they should be utilizing these sites. It is important that they are utilizing all of them for practice in different areas not just focusing on one subject.
So far, parents and students, you are doing a fantastic job! I just want to make it as easy and understandable as possible. Let me know if you have any questions or comments.
These are activities you should do each day:
Reading—-Read chapter book of your choice for 25 minutes. In a notebook or on a google doc, write a response to your reading. Practice different strategies: predictions, summarizing, asking questions, character traits with evidence . You can share your doc with me or hold on to your notebook, to show when you return.
Do your Readworks assigned article (one a day) and answer the questions, submit.
Math—Do Zearn for 25 min. Everyone should be on Module 5 Lesson 5 by now. If you are not there, you have some catching up to do this week.
Monday–Lesson 5 Tuesday — Lesson 6 Wednesday– Lesson 7
Thursday-Lesson 8 Make sure you work watch the videos and work carefully. Email me if you have questions about a concept.
You can also work on Freckle and do flashcards (both multiplication and division).
Writing—Continue researching your informational topic. Use a piece of loose leaf paper and fold it into four parts. At the top of your paper, write your topic. For example: France, tigers, Jane Goodall…. In each of the four sections write your subtopics. Start collecting your research (Monday and Tuesday).
Thursday-–Use first two sections (subtopics) to create a good lead and write two paragraphs in a google document.
Friday-–Use last two sections to write your last two paragraphs using good descriptive details from your research.
You will edit and revise and share next week!!
Social Studies

Science
Do one Mystery Science activity a week.

Third Grade — Stormy Skies
If you come up with some of your own activity ideas as extension, please share with me. I will post pictures!!
Any extra time? Do more Freckle and Zearn. You can always work ahead. Get outside everyday if the weather is nice and play games. If you do something interesting or fun, share with me, so I can share with your classmates.
I am so proud of all of you! Keep up the good work and keep smiling!!
