Subitizing is: knowing a quantity just by looking at it quickly, without having to count it. Here is some practice with this concept.
Back to School!
Welcome back to school! I am very excited to be taking on a new position in Dearborn Public Schools. After 14 years in our GSRP preschool at Salina Elementary, and 7 years as a kindergarten teacher at Henry Ford Elementary, I am now a Special Education Resource Teacher at Henry Ford and Oakman Elementary. I will be working in Mrs. Dennett’s First Grade, and Mrs. Shupe’s Fourth Grade in the morning at Henry Ford. I will travel to Oakman for the afternoon and work in Ms. Rawson’s Kindergarten and Ms. Gartha’s Fifth Grade.
A little about myself…I went to Eastern Michigan University and majored in Special Education (Cognitively Impaired), with a Minor in Early Childhood. I received a Master’s Degree in Learning Disabilities. I was hired in Dearborn Public Schools in 1995, after subbing for two and a half years. I enjoyed my 14 years at Salina Elementary as part of the Great Start Readiness Program Preschool. When the full day kindergartens began, I moved to Henry Ford Elementary.
I am married, but my husband Matt lives in Northern Michigan, and I live here in Dearborn. We see each other when we can. I live with my mother, to take care of her. I have a little dog named Radley, who is a great companion for my mom and I.
In my free time I enjoy watching the Detroit Tigers play, walking my dog, riding my bike, traveling up north, camping and bonfires. I also enjoy volunteering for the Dearborn Animal Shelter and for the Knights of Columbus.
I am very excited to meet the students and their families. The best way to contact me would be via email at ChromiA@dearbornschools.org
