Henry Ford Elementary

The 2022 – 2023 school year is off to a great start!  All classes are checking out library books and we’re learning how to use the Chromebooks in media classes.  We’re learning fiction, non-fiction and biography books.  Soon we’ll have kiosks set up with Chromebooks so we can use them to search the Destiny program to look for our favorite library books!

Students use Chromebooks to create digital stories.

December

Hard to believe it’s December already. The students have been checking out books from the library, learning how the books are arranged, and enjoying literature related to the various holidays we’ve had so far.

We’re starting to learn some coding, which is computer programming. We’re using Code.org, and joining in the Hour of Code, which is nationwide every December! We’re also learning how to program a dance for one of Santa’s elves, in Code Boogie on Santatracker!!

Students have been checking out lots of great library books.  Keep up the great work, readers are leaders!  They have also been doing the Hour of Code, learning how to write computer code using blocks, to program computers.  Learning how to use computers is so important, and it’s amazing to learn how many steps it takes to make the computers do a few simple moves!  Hour of Code can be found under the Code app, in Clever, on the Student Portal page.
