World Fair

Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful break! Tomorrow (4/5/2016) will be Geer Park’s World Fair from 1-3:25 in the gym. Students will be sharing facts that they have learned about their assigned countries as others travel with their passports to learn new information about other countries.  You are all invited to come share this experience with students (kindergarten-5th) and staff. Hope to see you there!

Field Trip

Parents,

If you would like your child to participate in our kindergarten field trip on May 6, please sign the permission slip and send it to school with the 6 dollars before March 17. We will only collect both at the same time. More information regarding the field trip will come soon. For now, we just want to get a count of how many kindergartners are going. Also, due to limited space, we are unable to take any chaperones (unless we really need to). We apologize for the inconvenience. It would be so nice to have you all share this experience with your children. Thankfully, we will have more special experiences that we would like you to be involved with. As always, we appreciate your support.

News

For the past couple of weeks, we have been practicing simple addition and subtraction problems. This week, we are learning about different ways to make the number ten. Any practice at home will support your child with developing math fact fluency. If you find that your child is struggling with addition and/or subtraction, provide them with objects they can manipulate to help them solve problems (cereal, blocks, counters, crayons, etc.) Thanks again for your continued support.

A letter went home today regarding our Box Top Contest. Please help support our school by collecting box tops and gluing/taping them onto the sheet provided. You may also place them in a Ziploc bag.

Our 100th day of school celebration will be this Friday (2/26/16)! Your children will be participating in activities that include the number 100. Our class is very excited to celebrate 100 days of learning and growing!

Report Cards

Families,

You will find your child’s report card for the second marking period in his/her folder tomorrow (2/5/16). If you have any questions/concerns do not hesitate to contact me. Let’s continue working together to ensure that your child does his/her personal best every day. 🙂
