Dear Families,

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. I will not be posting new assignments on our Google classroom next week since it is Spring Break. Please continue to read to/with your child over the break.

Below is a message from Mrs. Waddell regarding 3rd Quarter report cards.

Directions to access ParentConnect can be found in the link below.  Because April 6th falls on Spring Break, teachers will respond to parent questions beginning the week of April 13th and will not be sending any work for students.  Please take this time to be with your families, get some rest & relaxation, and continue to follow the Governor’s shelter in place protocols.ParentConnect Instructions

Dear Families,

I will be posting weekly assignments here for you to do with your child. Please take a picture of your child’s finished assignment and you can either dojo or email the picture to me. These assignments are for the week of March 16-March 20th.

Language Arts: We started working on the letter Ww last week. For this week, your child can practice writing both uppercase and lowercase Ww’s. As part of our letter study, as a class, we draw pictures of things that start with Ww. Your child can draw 2-4 things that start with Ww and label them.

Math: We have been talking about different ways you can break numbers apart. For example: the number 4 can be broken into (4+0=4; 1+3=4; 2+2=4). Your child can practice different ways to break numbers: 5, 6, 7. You can also have your child practice writing the numbers 0-10.

Science: We were going to start talking about Life Science. We had already started talking a little bit about the difference between living and non-living things. Living things: need: food, water, air, and can grow and change. Non-livings: don’t need any of those things and don’t change. Your child can draw a picture of two things that are living and two things that are non-living.

Please continue to either read to your child or have your child read to you.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Dear Families,

We are excited to share an end-of-the-year event that will be both fun and raise money for a cause that is close to our hearts and has touched everyone in our school. In order to show our support for Miss Johnston, many teachers have offered their time and talents to come up with “experiences” that they will share with students in a fundraising effort.  These experiences are being offered through a raffle whereby the kids can purchase tickets and then put them into the drawing for the experience (or experiences) of their choice. Parents of winning students will need to provide transportation to and from the location of the event. Teachers will work with winners to find a mutually agreeable date and time that works for everyone, and we expect most  of these experiences to take place during the summer. Drawings will take place June 11. Tickets will be $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Tickets sales will take place in the mornings before outdoor lineup and at selected school events these last few weeks of the school year. In addition, tickets will be sold by staff going around to classrooms at the beginning of the day on limited days.
