Bring Your Cell Phones to Class

What!?  For real!?  No, really, bring your phones, tablets, or other mobile devices to math class on Monday, October 2nd.  We will be playing a Kahoot review game that works well with personal devices.  If you don’t have anything to bring or don’t want to, that’s ok too.  We’ll have a chrome cart available as well.  Happy weekending!

Important Technology

O.L. Smith Vikings,

At this point all math classes have had the opportunity to log in to Khan Academy, Google Classroom, and Student Connect.  While in class together all students added me as a coach on Khan Academy, signed up for my Google Classroom, and took a peek at Student Connect.  If you have been absent, or somehow missed the opportunity, here’s what to do:

Khan Academy:

Use the following codes to add me as your coach.  This is how you will get credit for the work you do on Khan Academy.  Every student is required to practice skills for 60 minutes every week.

4th Hour:  MGWT8P

Google Classroom:

Homework Due Friday!!!

This is a repeat of an earlier post.  Don’t forget!

Assignment #1 – Bring a math notebook to class.  This must be one notebook that is only for math class.

Assignment #2 – Bring a folder or a binder to class.  Either one is fine.  Choose whichever one you would prefer to use to organize your loose papers.  Again, this must be only for math class.

Assignment #3 – Bring a decoration to contribute to the classroom.  As you will notice on the first day of school, decorating a room is not my specialty.  I need your help!  You can bring something home-made, you can bring something store bought, you can bring whatever you want to put in the classroom that will make it more beautiful.  We’ll talk more about this the first day of school, but start thinking about what you can contribute.

Assignment #4 – You will be given a syllabus on the first day of school.  You must take it home, have a parent or guardian sign the back page, and return it to me.

These four assignments will all be due on Friday, September 8th.

Psst, do you want to earn some extra credit?  If you bring supplies to share with the entire class you can earn a little extra credit.  Boxes of tissues, packages of pencils, and paper are always needs, but anything that you would like to bring in to share with the class will earn you extra credit.
