More Homework!!!

There are two homework assignments due in Mr. Zimmer’s math class this Friday, September 9th.

  1. You must bring bring a folder or binder to class that will be used for math class.  Either a folder or binder is ok.  I don’t have a preference.  This will give you something to keep all of your loose-leaf papers and worksheets in.  AVID students, your AVID binder will count for this assignment.  If you are unable to provide one for yourself I can provide one for you.
  2. You must bring a decoration to contribute to the classroom.  This can be anything school-appropriate that will help improve the look of our classroom.  It can be math related, but it certainly does not need to be.  Hand-made and store-bought decorations are both welcome.

Don’t forget!  Both assignments will count as a homework grade in the grade book.

Homework (Already?)

Don’t forget, your signed syllabus is due back tomorrow (Wednesday, September 7th).  We will have a syllabus “quiz” in class.

Also, you must contribute one decoration to class by this Friday, September 9th.  Start thinking about what would look nice and what you would like to stare at for the next 181 days!

Final Quiz Thursday!

Parents and Students,

Our final quiz of the school year is coming up on Thursday, June 9th.  It will cover all surface area and volume topics we have studies and the angle equation problems we have been practicing during S.L.O.T.  Wednesday will be a review day in class.  Get ready to do your best and finish the year strong!

M-STEP Testing (Week 2)

7th grade students have been M-STEP testing all week!  Monday and Tuesday were the reading test, and Wednesday-Friday was the computer adaptive math test.  This coming Monday, May 16th, students will begin the math performance task.  They will conclude with the science test on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Don’t give up, only three more days to go!  Get plenty of sleep, eat a good breakfast, and stay ready to give a strong effort next week.

New Late Work Policy

Students and Parents,

Congratulations, you made it to the final marking period of the year!  That being said, I would like to prepare every mathematician as much as possible for 8th grade, and that includes turning in work on time.  After discussions with the 8th grade math teachers I have revised our class’s late work policy to more accurately reflect what students will see in 8th grade.

1-2 days late: 10% deducted

3-5 days late: 25% deducted

6-10 days late: 50% deducted

More than two weeks late: No credit

Please make sure all work is handed in on time.  Happy math-ing!
