7th Grade Quiz Wednesday

7th Grade Students,

We will be taking a quiz this Wednesday, February 8th.  This will cover all of our learning about proportional relationships and equations.  It will also cover our SLOT learning about simplifying and solving equations using the distributive property.  Don’t forget to study!

Mr. Zimmer

Attention 8th Grade Students

The bad news:  Many students performed rather poorly on today’s quiz.  As a result, many students’ grades dropped.

The good news:  You still have a chance to earn a good grade!  We’ll take the week after the break to figure out what went wrong on the quiz and how to fix it.  After a few days practice everyone in class will re-take the quiz (on Thursday or Friday), and you will get to keep the higher grade of the two.

If your grade is lower than you’d like right now, don’t get discouraged!  Work hard next week and you can still have a good grade before the end of the marking period.  Have a great break!

Practice, Practice, Practice

Please remember that it is a class requirement that you log one hour of Khan Academy every week.  This counts for an assignment grade each week, so every marking period will have six Khan Academy grades.  If you complete your Khan Academy requirements each marking period it will substantially help your grade.  However, if you choose not to participate in Khan Academy then you will have a difficult time achieving the grade you want.  Practice, practice, practice!

Mr. Zimmer

Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal

School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”

If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools.  Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years.  Continue reading
