I regret having to write to you under these conditions, but, as you know, all schools in in Michigan have been shuttered through the end of our already scheduled spring break. Your health and safety is our top priority.

On our end here at O.L. Smith, staff members are working on putting together a plan for online learning to reach all students during this extended closure. Please look for a technology survey from your child’s advisory teacher so we are informed about exactly what capabilities you have at home.

Please monitor your teachers’ Google Classrooms and iBlogs daily. I will be posting daily assignments and updates on Google Classroom so your learning can continue while we are not in school. At the moment, district and building administrators are fine tuning the exact details of what this should look like, and I will pass those details along as soon as I can.

The expectation is that, while schools are closed, all of us teachers will continue to teach, and all students will continue to learn.
