Mrs. Croft's Kindergarten Class

Dear Families,

I wanted to take a minute and say thank you for the flowers, the notes, the special treats, the coffee, and the school supplies. I really appreciated your generous gifts.

I did have some updates for you.

Tomorrow, May 16^th is a “Late Start” day for all students. School starts at 9:35 tomorrow instead of 8:35.

Our day to visit the Book Fair is on Thursday, May 17^th. If you would like your child to purchase a book, you can send money with them in their folders. Also,iff you are available to help from 9:40-10:20, Thursday morning we would love to have you.

Due to the Book Fair, we will not be having our regular book check out day on Thursday. Next week will be the last week for students to check out books. All Library books need to be returned to school no later than June 1^st.

If your child has a Ziploc bag with books from the classroom, I will be collecting those books this week as well. I am starting my end of the year testing, so I will not be able to give students new books.

Finally, I will be figuring out chaperones for our Zoo Field Trip by the end of the week.

Dear Families,

I had just a couple quick reminders:

Tomorrow is our “Book Check out Day”. Please make sure that your child’s library book is in their backpack so he/she can get a new book.

All picture packages and money are due back to school on Friday, May 4^th. Please return the money and any pictures you do not want to keep,  back to school as soon as possible.

The permission slip for our upcoming field trip to the Detroit Zoo went home in your child’s folder today. All money and permission slips are due back to school next Friday, May 11^th so we can pick chaperones and purchase the tickets. If you already have a Zoo membership, please send into school a copy of the membership along with a copy of the Driver’s License of the person who the membership is under. You must have a current I-chat on file in the office in order to chaperone. If you need one, please stop in the office with your Diver’s License, so Ms. Malyn or Ms. Oynoian, can make a copy of it ASAP.

Next Thursday, May 10^th is our “Mother’s Day Tea.” We hope to see you all here.

Finally, the PTA Sponsored Talent show is next Friday night May 11^th.

Dear Families,

Happy Friday!! I had a few items for you:

Your child’s Spring Picture package will be coming home in their folder today. There is a pricing sheet in the envelope. You would take out the pictures you want to keep; mark the number of sheets on the envelope; enclose your payment; and return both the envelope and any unwanted pictures back to school. All Spring picture money, or any unwanted pictures are due back to school next Friday, May 4^th.

There will be a Bottle Drive in our school parking lot, tomorrow, April 28^th, from 9:00 am-11:30 am.

We will be having our Mother’s Day Tea on Thursday, May 10^th. Our tea will take place in our classroom. If you can’t attend, a grandma or aunt can come.

The PTA is having a Bowling Party on Friday, May 18^th, from 7:00-9:00. The cost is $10.00/person. The money is due back to school on Friday, May 11^th.

Finally, the Whitmore-Bolles Talent Show will take place on, Friday, May 11^th. There will be a Dress Rehearsal next Friday, May 3^rd.

Dear Families,

I cannot believe that the year is starting to wind down. I had some dates for upcoming events that I wanted to pass on to you.

We will be having a special Mother’s Day Tea, on Thursday, May 10^th from 2:30-3:15. The tea will take place in our classroom, followed by a short music informance. If you are unable to attend a grandmother or aunt can come.

We have another field trip scheduled for, Tuesday, May 29^th. We will be going to the Detroit Zoo for the day. We will need parent chaperones again. Please stop in the office and complete an I-chat form even if you are not sure you are able to go. Parents need to have an up-dated I-Chat on file in order to come on the field trip, or help in the classroom.

Our school-wide “Field Day” will take place on Thursday, June 7^th. The kids will be outside playing games and doing lots of other fun activities.

We will be having our End of the Year Celebration on Monday, June 11^th, with our rain day being Wednesday, June 13^th. More information along with a Sign-up Genius will be posted as the date gets closer.

Dear Families,

There will be a popcorn sale tomorrow. Your child may purchase one bag of popcorn for $0.50, or 3 bags for a $1.00. You may send the money in your child’s folder in the morning.

I have extra brown lunch bags. I will send one home with your child tomorrow for you to use for the Field Trip on Tuesday. If you are chaperoning, you will need a bagged lunch with a disposable drink for yourself, as well as, one for your child. Also, if you are chaperoning, please make sure that I have your current cell phone number on file. Finally, all students and chaperones must be at school by 8:35 on Tuesday morning. I will need to take attendance and have students use the bathroom before we get on the bus. We will start boarding the bus at 8:50.

Dear Families,

Don’t forget tomorrow is Picture Day!! Please make sure you remember to bring your smile!! Also, if you have not returned the picture form to school, please complete it and put it in your child’s folder. You do not have to send in money. As soon as the pictures come back to school, I will send them home to you. You will keep what you want and return the rest back to school. You will pay for the pictures that you keep.

Also, our “Book Check Out” day will be on Thursday. Please make sure to send your child’s library book back to school either on, or before Thursday.

Finally, the kids and I  excited about the field trip next week. Your child will need a brown bag lunch with a disposable drink for the field trip. I will either be sending home a note or posting more information on the blog regarding the filed trip.

Dear Families,

I am still working on chaperones for the Science Center Field Trip. I will let you know ASAP. I did have a couple of other quick reminders.

Tomorrow Wednesday, March 28th, is our Bingo for Books Family Event. Bring your family, play bingo, and win books for you to your child/children at home. It is a fun time for all.

All Dearborn Public Schools will be closed Friday, March 30th-Sunday, April 8th for Spring Break. Please practice your child’s letters, sight words, and have your child read to you over break. You can also have your child practice letters and math skills on www.abcya.com.

Spring Picture day was changed to Wednesday, April 11th. I sent the picture day flyer home in your child’s folder today. You do not need to send money, however you will still fill out the picture form and return it to school either on or before April 11th.

We are in need of  two more parent volunteers. Please let me know if you are able to help. Just a quick reminder that your child needs to bring in a bucket or basket for the egg hunt by Thursday, and 24 pre-filled plastic  eggs.

Finally, I have a class tomorrow that starts at 4:00. Just for tomorrow, your child can be picked up in office between 3:40-3:45. If you are picking your child up from the office, then you will need to have picture ID with. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

Dear Families,

I ended up staying home today with my daughter. I will be picking chaperones for our Field Trip when  I return to school on Monday. Please make sure that the money and permission slip is into me no later then Monday morning. I will let you know if you are one of the chaperones via text. If I do not pick you, and you have already paid, I will refund your money.

Dear Families,

Happy Thursday!! I had a couple of quick reminders.

All money and permission slips for the Field Trip are due tomorrow, Friday March 23rd. I will be up at school until 7:00 tonight for conferences. If you have not turned in your child’s permission slip and money, you can bring it up with you to your conference. If I am not scheduled to meet with you tonight, you can still drop the money off at school. You might have to wait a couple of minutes if I am meeting with a family.

Our next Family Night will be Wednesday, March 28th from 3:45-4:30. The activity is Bingo for Books. Your child will be able to win a free book. Both parents and students really enjoy this event.
