Dear Families,

I sent home a November, December, and Holiday book order forms in your child’s folder. I also included a a letter with our class code so you can order online. All book orders are do either back to school or online by Tuesday, November 21st. I will be submitting the order during Thanksgiving break in order to have the books here in case you need them for Christmas gifts. Our class code is: HNNPZ.

One other quick note, with the change in the weather we have had a lot students coming to school not feeling good. If your is child running a fever or has thrown up before coming to school, please keep them home. He/she needs to be fever free, or have not thrown up for twenty-four hours before they can return to school.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a wonderful weekend!!

Good Evening Families,

I sent home either proofs or a  picture package with your child today. I put the pictures in your child’s folder. If you would like your child’s picture re-taken on the November 21st, just return your child’s picture package to school.

Tomorrow, November 9th, is our Book Check Out Day. I did collect books from the kids today. However, if your child’s book is still at home, please return it to school tomorrow, so he or she can get  a new book.

Tomorrow is also the Pizza party for students and their Dads as well as our first night of Parent-Teacher Conferences. During your child’s conference, he or she will be sharing their progress with you from their Leadership Notebook. Please arrive on time for your conference. Your child’s conference will be about 15 minutes.

Today I also sent home an Art Fundraiser form. On the front of the form is a piece of art work your child designed. There are lots of different styles for you to choose from. The best way to place an order is to use the website and the code on the bottom of the flyer. All orders are due on Monday, November 13th.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening.

November 6

Dear Families,

Just a quick reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow, November 7th. Teachers will be in the building tomorrow for Professional Development.

I realized as I was dismissing kids that I forgot to hand out picture packages. I will make sure those go home on Wednesday.

Please check your child’s folder for your conference reminder sheet. If your child’s conference is next week I will send home the reminders on Monday or Tuesday.

Have a wonderful evening.

November 3

Good Afternoon Families,

I have your child’s picture package or proofs if you did not order a package. I will send them home with your child on Monday. I am sorry for any confusion that my post yesterday might have caused.

I did send home name baggies with your child today. Please have your child put the letters in his or her name in the right order and tell you the name of each letter. Once your child knows all the uppercase letters in their first and last name, I will switch to just the first letter being capital/uppercase and the rest lowercase.

I hope  everyone has a wonderful weekend.

November 2

Dear Families,

I am sorry this is so late in coming, but I wanted to take a minute and say thank you to all the families who donated items for the Fall Celebration on Tuesday. I would also like to thank the moms who came in and helped with the party. We all had a blast.

November is a very busy month. I have some reminders as well as new information to share with you.

Tomorrow. Friday, November 3rd is a Half-Day of school for all Elementary students. Students will need to be picked up at 11:45. Your child will still a snack but not a lunch for tomorrow.

Tuesday, November 7th is Election Day, which means no school for students.  Teachers will be at Whitmore-Bolles for Professional Development.

Parent-Teacher Conferences will also be taking place on Wednesday, November 15th and Thursday, November 16th from 4:00-7:00. Please see me as soon as possible if you have not signed up for a time. I will be sending out reminders when it gets closer to your child’s conference day.

We have a program in our building called “Watch Dogs.” This is a wonderful program for Dads and other important male remodels in a child’s life, to be a part of our school. We will be having a Pizza Night event on Thursday, November 9th from 6:00-7:00. In order to attend the Pizza Dinner with your child, you need to fill out the permission form and return it school by, Monday, November 6th.

October 27

Dear Families,

Thank you so much to everyone who has signed-up to donate items for our Fall Celebration. I am still in need of one more pack of toilet paper and Halloween stickers. If you are able to send some of the remaining items that would be wonderful. Students can wear orange and black to school that day but no Halloween costumes.

I did send home names or the ABC matching game with your child this weekend. Please have your child practice putting their name together in the right order, reading their first and last names, then telling you each letter that is in their names. Quite a few of the children know the letters in their first names but not last names.

Finally, the weather is turning colder. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately to play outside.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Amy Croft

October 25

Dear Families,

I hope everyone is staying warm now that the weather has turned colder. We will still continue to go outside on a daily basis weather permitting. We will not go outside when it is raining or below a certain temperature including windchill. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather: hats, gloves, warm coat, boots and snow pants. Your child will not be a allowed in the snow without boots and snow pants.

Tomorrow, Thursday, is our Book Checkout Day. Please make sure your child brings back their Library book and remind them it is in their bag. Even though, I said to the kids, “Check your backpack one more time for your book,” I still had a few kids find their book after we had already come back.

Finally, the last chance to turn in any money from the Piston Fundraiser is tomorrow morning.

I hope you have a wonderful evening.
