Dear Families,

Happy First Day of Spring!! I know the kids and I cannot wait for the weather to warm up. I have a couple of quick updates.

Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences are this Thursday, March 22nd, from 4:00-7:00. I will not be meeting with all families. I am in the process of contacting families in order to set up a meeting time.

I am still collecting money for our first field trip to the Michigan Science Center. All money and permission slips are due back to school on Friday, March 23. I will be picking chaperones lottery style, since we are allowed to bring only six. If you are chaperoning the trip, you need to have a current background check on file in the office. You must ride the bus with us.

Spring Picture Day has been moved from Wednesday, March 28th to Wednesday, April 11th. I will be sending home the flyer for picture day next week before break. You do not need to send money on April 11th. All you need to do is fill out the part of the picture form with your child’s name, and the pose you would like. I will be sending home picture packages once they are returned to school for you to purchase the ones you would like to keep.

We will be having a “Spring Celebration” on Thursday, March 29th. One of the activities we will be doing that day is an egg hunt. Each child needs to bring in 24 pre-filled plastic eggs by Tuesday, March 27th. Each child will also need to bring in a plastic bucket or basket to put the eggs in from the egg hunt. Thank you so much for your help and support!!

Dear Families,

We have a lot of things coming up this month.

Just a quick reminder: tomorrow is our shopping day for the Book Fair. If you would like your child to purchase from the Book Fair, you can put  money and a list of books in his or her folder.

Next Wednesday, March, 14th is a “Late Start Day.” School starts at 9:35 instead of 8:35.

Our Spring Parent Teacher conferences will be taking place on Thursday, March 22nd, from 4-7. Due to the fact that conferences are taking place in one day instead of three, I will only need to conference with a few families. I will be reaching out to those families within the next week.

Finally, Wednesday, March 28th, is our “Spring Picture Day.” Spring pictures work differently than Fall pictures. You will not pre-pay for the Spring picture package. Instead, when your child’s pictures come in, I will send them home. A pricing sheet will be included with the package. You will then look through the pictures. You can choose to pay and keep the whole package, or select sheets from the package, or not keep any of the pictures. You will then return the picture money and any pictures you did not keep back to school.

Please let me know if you have questions.

Dear Families,

Thank you to everyone who sent in items for our Hundredth Day Celebration! The kids had a blast doing different activities centered around the number one hundred. I loved all the different t-shirts. The kids had a lot of fun “walking the runway” to show off their shirts. I would also like to thank Ms. Williams, Mr. Gibson, Ms. Riley, Ms. Jenson, Ms. Maldonando-Ziga, and Ms. Davis, for coming in and helping.

Don’t forgot, tomorrow is our “Book Checkout Day!” Please make sure that your child has their book in their backpack tonight if it is still at home.

Also, tomorrow is the deadline for all “Jump Rope for Heart” donations. You may send in your child’s donation envelope in their folder and I will get it to Ms. Waidmann.

We will be having our Spring Book Fair next week. I will be sending home the flyers and our shopping day information either Friday or Monday.

Thank you for all your help and support!

Dear Families,

I hope everyone is staying warm. I had a couple of quick items:

Tomorrow school starts at 8:35. On the color calendar it said there was a “Late Start” tomorrow.

We will be going to “Book Checkout” on Thursday. I only had a few students return their books. Please make sure your child brings their book back no later than Thursday, so they can check out a new book.

There is “NO SCHOOl” next week for Mid-Winter Break, February 19th-the 23rd. We will see everyone back on Monday, February 26th.

Finally, we will be celebrating our 100th Day of school on Wednesday, February 28th. Please check your child’s fold for a note about our 100th Day collection. This year students will be making a t-shirt with 100 items on it. On the 100th day, we will have a Fashion show, where students can walk “the runway” and show off their shirts. I will be sending home a half-shit of paper for you and your child to write a description about his or her shirt. I will also be posting a Sign-up genius for the items we will need for the celebration as well as some parent volunteers.

Thank you for all your help and support.
