Good Afternoon Families,
I did send home homework with your child today. Each child has a baggie with the letters in either just their first name or their first and last name. Please sit with your child over the weekend and have them put the letters in the correct order. Then, have them read their name. Finally, have your child touch each letter and tell you the n letters that are in their names.
Once your child knows all the uppercase letters in their first and last name, I will mix in both upper and lowercase letters.
A couple of children have an Alphabet matching game. You and and your child will mix up the cards and flip them face down on the floor/table. You will then take turns flipping over two cards at a time. For example, if you/or your child flip over an uppercase H and a lowercase h then, you have a match and you get to keep the cards. If you don’t have a match then you flip the cards back over and it is the other person’s turn. You will continue to play until all the letters have been matched and whoever has the most matches wins the game.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy your weekend!
