Howdy Families,

We had another great day in kindergarten!.  Everyone has been doing a great job learning the “Lindbergh Way!”  This afternoon we had fun with our Mad Science Experiment.  The experiment is called Color Changing Milk.  Each scientist was given a dish with whole milk in it.  We added 4 drops of food coloring in the middle.  Next, the scientists dipped a Q-tip with dish soap and placed it in the middle of the dish.  Here are some pictures to show our results. We wondered how the experiment would work with chocolate milk or different types or milk.  If you are brave enough to try it at home, please let us know the results! Afterwards, the scientists recorded their observations into their science notebooks.  Thanks to Mrs. Beydoun, Mrs. Khalil and Mrs. Zavala for helping us today.DSC00091 DSC00090 DSC00089 DSC00088 DSC00087 DSC00086 DSC00085

The scientists really wanted to wear their lab coats today during the experiment but since the classroom seemed to be 125 degrees, we skipped the lab coats and snuck into the air-conditioned teacher’s lounge for a popsicle instead!  Thanks again Mrs. Beydoun!  Also, we are up to 18 lab coats!  Thanks to everyone who has been checking their closets.

Tomorrow we have another hands-on experiment.  Your scientist will practice at school and take it home and teach it to you.  Your family’s results are due by Monday, September 16th.  Have fun and good luck!

Ms. Wright

Dear Families,

Hopefully you had a chance to take a peek into your child’s red folder tonight.  It was jammed-packed with homework and lots of information.  Please let me know if you have any questions regarding anything sent home.  Among the many things, there was a Lindbergh t-shirt order form that was sent home.  The orders are due Friday, September 13th.

Also, on Wednesday, September 11th is a late start day.  This means that school will start exactly one hour later at 9:35 a.m.

We will have our a Mad Science Experiment this Wednesday at 1:00 p.m! For this experiment we need a gallon of whole, white milk. If you could help us out, please leave a comment below.  Thanks!  We could also use several parent volunteers to help assist our kindergarten scientists.  If you are interested in helping, please let me know either by a comment below, an email, or a note in your child’s red folder.  Volunteers would need to sign-in at the office and come to our room at 1:00 p.m. Please plan to help for about 30 minutes.  Also, we are up to 16 lab coats! 🙂

Just wanted to show off our good-looking class!  See if you can spot your child during Read to Self.

Here’s to a great week!

Ms. Wright
