Look Who’s New in Room 114

Dear Families,

0225142115

We love the character Knuffle Bunny in our class.  Thanks to the Celani family, this lovable bunny will be coming to visit your home soon.  Each night, a student will be randomly chosen to bring Knuffle Bunny home along with the story.  There will also be a Knuffle Bunny journal, where your child will be writing and drawing about their Knuffle Bunny visit.  It is just like when Pete the Cat came home.  However, Pete needs a well-deserved rest and bath!

Science Fair Boot Camp Update:

Thanks to all the donation envelopes that have come pouring in the last few days!  Your support is unbelievable!   Also, a big thanks to everyone who donated supplies and/or their effort.  It certainly shows what remarkable families we have at Lindbergh.

Your very enthusiastic scientist should have brought home all the needed science materials today, they have been begging me since Monday. 🙂  We also sent home the science display boards, although you won’t need those just yet.  I will be making a board at school with the class so the students should have a good understanding of what to do.  I will also be sending home some helpful hints on the board layout.

One more thing, in the procedures for growing the alligator, it states to measure the length and the width.  You are welcome to do both but if you chose to only measure the length, that is fine.  If possible, you might want to take a photograph or trace the alligator every day.  This is another way to show data on the display board.

Enjoy the night with your scientist!

100th Day of School Poster

Dear Families,

Here are the directions for the 100th Day of School poster.  Many students have already handed it in.  But if you haven’t started, good luck!

It is hard to believe that your child has been in kindergarten for almost 100 days!  On Monday, March 3, we will be celebrating the 100th day of school.  Prior to that day, your child will need to create a poster showing a 100.  The poster will be done at home but can be turned in on the 100th day or before.  They are to draw, stick, etc.  100 things on their poster.  Have your child make it as creative as they can.  Anything goes as long as there is a 100 of something on the poster. Don’t forget that you can show a 100 in a variety of ways.  Some examples:  10 groups of 10, 2 groups of 50, 5 groups of 20, etc.

Happy Valentine’s Day from Room 114

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hope your day is going as fantastic as ours did!   We had a great Valentine’s Day party.  Thanks to everyone who brought in goodies,  materials and supplies.  We really appreciate your support!  Thanks to Max’s mom, Reina’s mom,  Billy’s mom,  Ahmad’s mom, Andy’s mom, and Logan’s mom for coming in and helping us.  During this party, the students went to different “valentine corners.”  They made awesome “floats”, did M & M math, delivered valentine cards, built candy towers, ate snacks and wore party hats.  Take a look at the pictures that Logan’s mom and Billy’s mom took.

Hi Families,

My deepest apologies for the mass confusion regarding Math Homelink 5.2.  If your child has turned in the collection of 100 things or has completed the 100th Day of School poster, then they are all set!  No worries!  However, we will actually be celebrating the 100th Day of Kindergarten on Monday, March 3rd.  It is on that day, that your child (if they already haven’t) will need to bring in a collection of 100 things and 100 Day Poster.

  • A collection of 100 things- if possible in a quart-sized ziplock bag.  You know me, I have big plans for using them into a science experiment.  Please nothing valuable, a couple of students mentioned 100 dollars!  🙂  If your child already turned in their collection and it is not in a ziplock bag, don’t worry about it.
  • 100th  Day  Poster-  have your child make a poster with a 100 things on it.  Be creative, feel free to show 10 groups of 10 things, 20 groups of 5 things, etc.  We will be hanging them out in the hallway for all to see.

These 100th Days of School projects need to be sent in to school by Monday, March 3rd.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Thanks,

Ms. Wright
