Hello Families,
Today we had a Mad Scientist visit our classroom! Billy’s mom stopped by to give our kindergartenscientists a demonstration on “density.” You might have seen the Density Tower she made for our Science Fair Boot Camp. It was even more amazing to watch her actually make it. She carefully constructed a nine-layer density tower, using a variety of household items. Ask your child, what was at the bottom of the Density Tower? What were some of the liquids that Billy’s mom used? What were some of the solids that she dropped in the tower? Mrs. Schook did an incredible job and we all learned something new! Take a look!

Hello Families,
The Kindergarten is presenting at our next PBIS assembly on Wednesday, April 9th at 10:15. We are working on habit 6, Synergize. The children have been working hard on a song; you may have heard it. Mrs. Stetz took the Happy song form Despicable Me II and changed the words to have it fit with the 7 habits. We also made posters and have a quick skit with a couple children. We thought is would look cute if the students wore jeans and a yellow shirt that day. If they do not have a yellow shirt, white would be great. Please do not go out and buy anything. This is a 20 minute assembly. If they have this great, if not no worries. We are keeping it a secret from the rest of the school so they will be surprised.
Have a great weekend!
Ms. Wright
Dear Families,
We had a great time on our field trip to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum today! Thanks to Eman’s dad, Max’s dad, Bri’Ana grandparents, Ibrahim’s mom, Andy’s mom, Billy’s mom and Logan’s mom. If you took any great pictures today, please send them to me. Thanks! I will post my pictures later.
FYI Tomorrow is our PBIS reward day! I thought it was on April 10th but found out that it is really tomorrow. During the reward, our class will be watching part of the Tigers game and the students may bring in a “junkie” snack to eat.
Enjoy the evening!

Dear Families,
It sure felt good to be back today!
We had two guest readers on Wednesday. First off, Ayah’s mom stopped by and read us Click Clack Moo and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, two beloved stories in our classroom. Thanks Mrs. Qasem!
Later near dismissal time, Ahmad’s mom stopped by to read to us some Snoopy books called Be Yourself and You Can Be Anything!
Thanks Mrs. Khalil! Great book selections!
Yesterday, Leo’s grandma stopped in to read The Country Bunny by DuBose Heyward. She showed some very special eggs to the class. Ask your child to tell you about the eggs that Leo’s grandma brought. Thank you Mrs. Buffone!
Today Avery’s mom stopped by for a visit. My belly hurt from laughing so hard! The titles of these hilarious books are: Turkey Trouble, Turkey Claus and Not Your Typical Dragon.
Thanks Mrs. Turk!
This is a Friendly Reminder that field trip money is due on Monday. We still need 7 students to return their money and permission slip. Thanks to those of you that signed up to be a chaperone. If you did, information packets will be sent home in your child’s red folder on Monday.
Have a restful weekend!

Dear Families,
I am at home today with my son who is sick. However, I will be at conferences tonight. If you have a scheduled conference, I will meet with you at your assigned time.
Thanks,
Ms. Wright
Dear Families,
Don’t forget that Wednesday is Pajama Day! Your child may also bring in a stuffed animal.
Today we were lucky enough to have two guest readers! Evan’s mom came in this morning and read us a incredible pop-up book and the classic story Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.
Thank you Mrs. Garrett!
Today was a double birthday. Happy Birthday to Ibrahim and Reina! After the cake and ice cream was finished, Ibrahim’s mom was the other guest reader.
Thank you Mrs. Fawaz!
Until next time…
Ms. Wright
Dear families,
Our kindergarten class loves to have guest readers come and visit. On Friday, Billy’s grandma came and read us Pete the Cat and the Easter Adventure and Dragons Love Tacos. Both stories were a big hit with us!
Today, Evan’s fourth grade sister was “caught being good” and was selected to be a guest reader. She could chose any class to read to and luckily she chose us! We are still laughing about Mo Willems’s That is NOT a Good Idea!
Here is what you need to know for this week:
Letter Books- we are studying the letter X x. Since words that start with the letter X are rare, your child may find words that have the letter X anywhere in the word. Such examples: Max, six, box, exit
Spelling Pattern: this week it has the “id” chunk bid did kid hid
Individual Spelling Words: each student has two of their own words to practice this week. Please make sure they practice a few minutes each night while I will make sure they practice during the school day. Your child’s Spelling Notebook needs to be kept in their Book Bag at all times.
Wednesday is Pajama Day! Your child may wear his/her pajamas to school. Please make sure they are warm enough to wear outside for recess. They may bring in one stuffed animal if they would like!
Field Trip Permission Slips are due by Monday, March 31, 2014. Let me know if you have any questions.
Picture and or picture money is due! If you haven’t turned it in yet, please do so.
It sure was great seeing many of you at Lindbergh’s Science Fair Boot Camp. I was impressed that 19 out of 20 students in our class came for this event. Thanks to Leo’s grandpa for taking lots of pictures. If you took any pictures, I would love it if you could email them to me.
Report Cards will be sent home this week.
Have a great week!
Ms. Wright
Hello Families,
We were lucky again today to have two guest readers come and read to us! First off, Billy’s grandma read us a fast favorite book called More Bears! by Kenn Nesbitt! If you haven’t read it before, it is a must-read!
Next, Billy’s grandpa showed us a real bear rug from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula! Our kindergartners were able to touch the fur and check out the bear’s features up-close while Billy’s grandpa taught us many interesting facts about BEARS! Thank you for such a cool learning experience!
Near dismissal time, our classroom door opened again, only to find another special guest reader! This time it was a very familiar face! It was Reina’s mom who read us more favorite books. Thank you Mrs. Beydoun for reading to us today!!
Field Trip Permission slips will be sent home on Wednesday. Please check your child’s red folder.
Spring Pictures were sent home last Friday. You may purchase these pictures by simply paying on-line or by sending in a payment to school. If you aren’t interested in purchasing these pictures, please return them to school. We need the pictures or the payment by this Friday!
Until next time…probably tomorrow! 🙂
