Important Field Trip Information!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Families,

It is with regret we need to cancel our filed trip to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum tomorrow.  The bus company cancelled on us today at 1:00 with an email and we are unable to secure another bus to take us.  We called about 8 companies and no one has availability.  We will be able to get our money back and will return it to you as soon as possible.  We would still like to do something special with the children so we have decided to walk to Levagood Park tomorrow instead.  We will be able to play at the park, eat our lunch and we plan to take balls for a kickball game and possibly a baseball game.  The weather should be nice, but you may want to apply sunscreen to your child before school.  We have several chaperones going so supervision will be in great supply.  Chaperones please arrive at school at 10:00. We will leave soon after to walk. Thank you for understanding and if you have any concerns please email one of us.  Thank you for your understanding.

Mrs. Stetz and Ms. Wright

Week of May 18, 2015

Dear Families,

Hope you are having a restful weekend.  Here is what you need to know for this upcoming week:

We are scheduled for Lindbergh’s Clean-Up Parade on Thursday May 21st at 1:30 p.m.  For those of you who didn’t grow up in Dearborn, Clean-Up Parades have been a tradition since the 1950:s.  The streets around the school are closed off to traffic and the students parade to remind Dearborn residents to Keep Dearborn Clean!    Take a look at the pictures below to see if you recognize anyone in the clean-up parades from the 1970’s!  🙂
26Tracy Clean up parade16.8
If your child would like to make a poster at home about Keeping Dearborn Clean that would be great.  Please make sure it is easy for them to carry through the parade route.
The week of our clean-up parade is a great time to have Spirit Week:  Here is what we are planning for this year’s Spirit Week:
Monday – Sport Day – wear your favorite team apparel
Tuesday – Crazy Hat Day
Wednesday – Backwards Day
Thursday – Lindbergh Pride Day – wear Lindbergh Shirts or Lindbergh red and comfortable shoes!!!
Friday – sit back and enjoy your day off!
Monday:  Please make sure that your child return their Spelling Notebook and library book.  They will take their spelling test today and be given new spelling words ( unfortunately I left the list at school).  We will be studying the “cl”blend this week in our letter books.  We will have one of our favorite guest teachers today, Mrs. Miller, since I will be at my last Science Training meeting.
Tuesday:  We will go to the Media Center, music and art today.
Wednesday:  We will go to music today.
Thursday:  Lindbergh’s clean-up parade at 1:30 p.m.  No Mad Science today. Please return letter books today.
Friday:  No School
Our upcoming field trip to the Ann Arbor Hands-on Science Museum will take place on Thursday, May 28th.  If you would like to be a chaperone, please make sure that your background check has been approved.  The cost is $16.00.  The expensive cost of this trip is due to the bus costs.  Please send in your permission slip and money as soon as you can.
Mark your calendar for Donuts for Dad!  This event will take place on Friday, June 5th at 9:00 a.m.  Invitations will be sent home this week.
That is all for now!
