Math Packets:

Please be on the lookout for a Unit 1 math packet in your child’s red folder today.  This packet was independent practice during math time.  You may notice that some pages may not have been completed.  This would be great to practice at home.  However, the packets do not need to be returned back to school.

Popcorn Friday:

Tomorrow is Popcorn Friday.  Your child may buy up to 4 bags of popcorn.  Each bag is 25 cents each.

That’s all for now!

Dear Families,

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful fall weekend!  Here is what you need to know for our upcoming week in our kindergarten class.

  • Friday:  We have a half day so dismissal is at 11:45 a.m.

Red Take Home Folders:  Please check your child’s red take home folder each night and take out papers that do not need to be returned the next day.  Thanks for your help in keeping everyone organized!

Words of the Week:  a  I     ( former words of the week are:  to  the  and  he)

Raz-Kids:  Your child has now been signed up for an interactive e-book series called Raz-Kids.  Tomorrow all the login information will be sent home in your child’s red folder.  Your child will have access to hundreds of books at home and school right at their current reading level.  This is a perfect way to keep your child engage while learning important reading skills.  We will practice using Raz-Kids in class so the students will be experts by the time they come home.  Good luck and have fun.

Field Trip Information:

  • Students need to arrive to school at 8:35 a.m.
  • Students need to bring a bag lunch with their name clearly marked on the outside.
  • Students need to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.  If possible, have your child wear a “red” shirt for being a Lindbergh Flyer.
  • Thanks to the 10 chaperones going on our trip with us.  Please plan on driving to Plymouth Apple Orchards separately or carpooling with other parents.  Maps and additional information will be given to chaperones on the morning of the field trip.  Please arrive at our classroom at 9:15 a.m. and make sure to bring a lunch for yourself too.  Remember if you are chaperoning, you cannot bring siblings with you.

Dear Families,

It is official!  We have started our investigation on our 5 Senses.  Today these kindergarten scientists rotated through 3 different “senses” labs.  Please ask your child what senses they worked on today.  Thanks to Lilly’s mom, my mom and 4 fifth grade science leaders:  Kassem, Nicholas, Hala and Annabelle for coming and helping today!

Here is the “sound” lab. Thanks to Nicholas and Kassem helping our sound engineers today!

mad-science-011

Here is Annabelle ( Molly and Maggie’s big sister) working with students at the “touch” lab. We were using many texture words here: soft, bumpy, rough, smooth, rough, etc. Please encourage your child to use texture words at home.

Thanks Hala for helping us at the “sight” lab. You and Annabelle really made this lab fun!

mad-science-013

Ask your child what were some items in the “touching” gloves.

Tomorrow we will conduct 2 more of our “senses” labs at 1:00 p.m.  Thanks to Aston’s mom, Jacob’s mom and Levi’s mom for volunteering to help us.

Until tomorrow…
