Our Adventure Today!

Dear Families,

We had an amazing time at the Outdoor Adventure Center today!  A huge thanks goes out to Ruby’s mom, Yuan’s mom, Ali’s sister, Martin’s sister, Zach’s grandma and Jack’s dad for being chaperones on our field trip.  First the students went to a program called F is for Fish.  Here they learned about the different types of fish that lived in the Detroit River.  Ask your child about the different parts of the fish.  Take a look:

After we ate lunch, the class had time to check out the Outdoor Adventure Center in small groups.

Then we boarded the bus and went to  Arts and Scraps.  Here they made fish out of recycled materials. They also went shopping.  Yes, that’s why they came home with more stuff that they took with them. 🙂

100 Drops of Water

Dear Families,

Since we were celebrating the 100th Day of School on Wednesday, I posed the question “what does a 100 drops of water look like?” to my kindergarten scientists.  Most of the class thought that 100 drops of water would be spilling over the top of the class.  Here’s what really happened:

100 drops of water 001 100 drops of water 004 100 drops of water 005 100 drops of water 006 100 drops of water 007 100 drops of water 008 100 drops of water 009 100 drops of water 010 100 drops of water 011100 drops of water 012

Ask your child about what 100 drops of water really looks like!

A few other things:

  • We have 5 students out sick today, with one confirmed case of strep throat.  🙁  Hope everyone gets some extra rest over the weekend!
  • Thanks to everyone who already turned in their field trip money for Wednesday.  If you haven’t done so yet, please send it in on Monday.
  • Our next spelling test is on Monday!  Words are:  am  bam  ham  jam  +  mystery “am” word + individual words!  Good luck!
  • We missed going to the media center this week to check out new library books.

Have a restful weekend!

Ms. Wright
