Week of March 10, 2014

Hello Families,

March is Reading Month is in full swing.  We would love for you to come and read to our class.  Let me know what day and time works best with your schedule.  Usually we have parent readers at arrival and dismissal times, but in kindergarten, being flexible is the name of the game.  So send me a email or note and we will work something out. Don’t forget to bring in a favorite book or two!  Plan on spending 10-15 minutes.  Thanks!

Thanks to Leo's mom for reading to our class!

Letter of the Week:  U  u   -good luck!  Letter books were sent home today!

Words of the Week:  “ag” family       bag    tag    wag   rag

Individual Spelling Words:  Each kindergartner has two spelling words that are chosen just for them.  Students are given an opportunity to practice these words during  arrival time and at “Word Work” time.  These spelling words  are written in their Spelling Notebook along with this week’s words.  Please make sure to have your child practice these words at home. It only takes several minutes each day but can make a big difference!

Tuesday:  Your child’s science display boards are due!  We can’t wait to see them!  If your child hasn’t returned their library book, please do so today.  A Science Fair Boot Camp parent note will be coming home today.  Make sure to check out the menu of the 20 hands-on science stations on the back of the letter.  Given the one-hour time frame, this will allow your family to plan ahead and make sure to visit the stations that best suits everyone’s interests!

Wednesday:  Late Start!  School starts one hour later.  Also, please join us for Lindbergh’s Science Fair Boot Camp at 6:30 p.m.  The class and I are very excited about this event.  We hope you and your family can make it!

Friday:  Wear a shirt with words today!  Please return letter books.

Have a great week!

Ms. Wright
