Dear Families,

Hope you are enjoying the blue skies this weekend!  Here is what you need to know for this upcoming week in out kindergarten class:

• Spelling tests will be given tomorrow morning.  The words on this week’s spelling test are:  bag   rag   tag  hag ( plus one cold word that contains the “ag” pattern along with your child’s individual spelling words.)  Please make sure that your child returns their spelling notebook tomorrow to school.
• This week’s spelling pattern is from the “ig” pattern:  big   rig   pig  wig
• Letters of the week:  Y  y
• Report Cards will be sent home sometime this week.  You will find your child’s NWEA test score results attached to the report card.  Your child will take the NWEA test one more time in kindergarten near the end of the school year.

Monday:  Please return library books.  Wear gym shoes.  Letter books will be sent home today.  New spelling words will be placed in spelling words.  Thanks to Thomas’s mom and Wade’s mom for being our super spelling helpers!

Tuesday:  We will visit the Media Center to check out new library books.  We will also go to music and art today.

Wednesday:  We will go to music today.

Thursday:  We will not be having Mad Science today.  However,  our next Mad Science session is scheduled for Thursday, April 2 at 1:00 p.m.

Friday:  Popcorn day!  Bring your 25 cents for any interested popcorn buyers.  Limit 2 bags please!  Letter books need to be returned today.  We will go to gym and the computer lab today.

I am still working on reading assessments this week.  It’s a slow process but an exciting one.  Our kindergartners are quite the readers these days!!
