Week of March 13, 2017

Dear Families,

I hope you are having a great day!  Here is what our busy week in kindergarten will look like:

New spelling words (introduced on Tuesday):  the “ig” family–  big  dig  pig  wig

This week’s poem: I’m a Little Leprechaun

Monday:  Please return your library book, Nightly Literacy Homework, Poetry Journal, Spelling Notebooks, and book bag.  Don’t forget we will go to gym and art today!

Tuesday:  We will have our spelling test on the words: bad  dad  sad  mad + individual words.   We will go to the Media Center to check out a new library book.  The students will be rehearsing for their music concert with Mrs. Baloga.   I will be out in the morning to attend my last Math Academy workshop but will be back after lunch.  But most importantly, our kindergarten concert will be tonight at 6:30 p.m.  Please drop off your child in the hallway by our classroom at 6:20 p.m. so you can find a seat in the auditorium.  Unfortunately, my son’s music concert is at 7:00 p.m. so I will be there at the start of the concert.  Once the concert is over, you can pick up your child in front of their locker.  Mrs. Stetz and Mrs. Ruselink (I hope this is okay with you!:) will help with dismissal.

Wednesday:  We will continue with our Earth Material Investigation #3 today.

Thursday:  Kindergarten Field trip #3 is today  Thanks for all the parents who signed up to be a chaperone.  I was able to get enough theatre tickets for everyone who wanted to go.  These are the parent chaperones that I have tickets for:  Levi’s mom, Ali’s mom, Enna’s mom, Dominic’s mom, MacKenzie’s mom, Aston’s mom, Olivia’s mom, and Jake’s mom.  Chaperones will need to report to our classroom at 9:00 a.m.  We will load the bus shortly after to arrive to the theatre.  The performance starts at 10:00 a.m.  Please make sure that everyone brings a bag lunch with drink, clearly marked with your child’s name on it.  Do not bring lunchboxes or water bottles that can’t be thrown away.

Friday:  Today is Popcorn Friday!  We will go to the computer lab with Mrs. Ackerman and gym with Mr. Murua.

Have a great week!

Ms. Wright

Bridget Growth Update for Day 5:

Bridget continues to grow in water.  In fact, I had to put her in a bigger container since she outgrew her other one.  If your child hasn’t started their Growing Alligator experiment yet, please make sure it is started by tomorrow since it takes 7 days.

You may start working on your science board as you go.  Here is a special example:

You may seem a resemblance to Jacob C. This is his big brother who is now a third grader!

Here is a great picture of Aleksander and Levi during corners making a special creation with our Plus Plus blocks.

Have an awesome week!

Ms. Wright
