Week of December 19, 2016

Dear Families,

December is the most popular month for birthdays in our class. Last week we celebrated the birthdays of Maryam, Enna and Jacob. Look at the fancy cupcakes!

Last week we had a great time studying different versions of the Gingerbread Man. The kindergartners wrote excellent opinions about what they thought the Gingerbread Man should do when he gets to the river. Ask your child what they wrote down for their opinion. We also wondered what would happen if the Gingerbread Man went in the river. So of course we had to experiment with this to see what would really happen. Here are some of pictures:

Needless to say, the Gingerbread Man would not last long in the river!

Here is what you need to know for this week:

Words of the Week: be have

Monday: Please return Nightly Reading Homework, book bag and poetry journal. We did not check out new library books last week due to the Santa Shop in the Media Center. We will go to gym and art today.

Tuesday: We will go to the Media Center to check out new books and have music with Mrs. Baloga.

Wednesday: Late Start! School starts at 9:35 a.m. We will have an excellent guest teacher named Ms. Amanda. She is very familiar with Lindbergh School and is very kind to young children.

Thursday: We will have music with Mrs. Baloga.

Friday: Your child is welcome to wear “school appropriate” pajamas for our “Pancakes and Pancake Party!” Your child use still wear regular shoes to school, but can bring house slippers to wear in the classroom. Your child may bring in one stuffed animal but please no pillows or blankets. Our party will start at 8:45 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. We will go to the computer lab and gym. We also have our PBIS reward too, so it will be a busy day!

Thanks for all of the donations you sent in last week. Our homeroom moms have been working really hard to make an exciting party for our lucky kindergartners. Many of you have asked if there is anything else we need, we will post needed items on the blog. At dismissal time, please pick up your child from our classroom since they will be taking many things home and we don’t want to leave anything over the break. This is for Friday only.

Until next time…
Ms. Wright

  1. Turns out I only have one griddle/ electric skillet available for the party so if anyone else has a second that would be great 🙂
