Hello Families,
It sure feels great to be back in the classroom after being out for Science Training! I have to laugh though. While at the training, there were some teachers stating how difficult it is to have parents volunteer in their classrooms. I didn’t mean to but I sort of giggled. Why you ask? In our kindergarten classroom, I had 16 parents who have offered to either volunteer or be a Room Home Parent! I think that speaks volumes. Unfortunately, when I mentioned that fact to the PTA, they said that we could have no more than three Homeroom Parents. So I put all the names in our red plaid can and pulled out three names. The Homeroom Moms for this year are: Erin Carlile, Michelle Williamson and Maggie Wax. For those of you did not get selected, there will be plenty of opportunities to volunteer.
We had a fantastic turn out for Open House last night. It sure was nice to see everyone. I apologize to anyone that I didn’t get to speak to directly, at certain times it got so busy that it difficult to reach everyone.
We sent home a Bullying Survey home in your child’s red folder. It is really important that you fill one out and return to school. You can return it in your child’s folder or turn it into the office. A Spirit Wear order form was sent home today too. All orders are due back by Friday, September 26th.
Monday’s first lunch choice is cheese quesidilla. Second choice is cheese pocket pizza.
Letter of the Week: R r Letter books will be sent home on Monday and will need to be returned on Friday.
This week I will be administering the district writing prompt and a series of literacy tasks.
Until next time…
Ms. Wright
