Triangle Congruence Intro. Investigation.

Students worked on constructing triangles based on different given measurements. They had others in their group check their work by remeasuring the angle and side lengths.

Once they cut out their triangles, they looked for a matching triangle with someone in the other group in the classroom. Once they found their match, they had to determine what made their triangles congruent (or what made them look the same, but not the same size). They categorized the whole class’s triangles into 6 different groups based on their findings. We will continue this discussion on Monday.

Today students discussed the multiple choice questions/answers to yesterday’s practice SAT with their table clumps. We went through a few questions as a class as well and then students had a chance to check all their answers with the linked key on the iBlog post from earlier today.

Afterwords, students had time to work on Khan Academy SAT prep/practice. They need to log 20 minutes for the assignment – finish at home if you didn’t finish in class!

Practice SAT NC Answers

Students took a Practice SAT – No Calculator test today. They reviewed their written responses with the students at their tables. We will discuss more of the SAT questions and strategies tomorrow.

After the quiz, students had a worksheet on isosceles and equilateral triangles to continue practicing there work with those special triangles (linked below).

Unit 2 Tests were passed back and students were able to review their answers with Mr. Wood if they had any questions. Test Retake will be on Friday (11/3).
