Tuesday, January 14 – No bell work. Discussed the properties of angular bisectors. Homework worksheet given – due tomorrow. Monday, December 16 – Daily bell work. Unit 3 Tests handed back. Today’s learning goal: “I can identify the mistakes I made on the Unit 3 Test.” Students self-analyzing their test scores, completing test corrections for a summative grade and identifying how they prepared for the test.

Tuesday, December 17 – Daily bell work. Today’s learning goals: “I can define the term congruent” and “I can name corresponding parts of congruent polygons and write a congruency statement.” No homework. PPT is linked below:

Wednesday, December 18 – Pre-Test for Unit #4 given today (“I can” statements). No attempt = no points! Worksheet on congruent figures – time in class to complete. Homework: finish worksheet for tomorrow!

Thursday, December 19 – Daily bell work. Reviewed how to simplify radicals and yesterdays homework assignment answers. Discussed the Pythagorean Theorem and used it to solve for missing values in a triangle. Quiz #9 tomorrow! It will cover our bell work and corresponding parts of congruent figures. Homework: study for the quiz! Note: Unit 3 Test Retake will be given tomorrow after you finish your quiz if you wish to retake it.

December 09 – December 13

Monday, December 09 – Daily bell work. Today’s learning goal: I can find a missing angle measurement inside and outside of a polygon. Unit 3 Test on Friday.

Tuesday, December 10 – Daily bell work. Today’s learning goal: I can use the distance formula to find the perimeter of a polygon on the coordinate plane. Homework: “packet” containing three shapes to graph and find the perimeter. Answers to all homework assignments will be posted tomorrow to help you study for our Unit 3 Test onFriday.

Wednesday, December 11 – Daily bell work. Began reviewing for our Unit 3 test on Friday. Students paired up and each pair completed their problem based on our learning goals. Then they shared their answer/explanation with the rest of the class. Review guides handed out.

Thursday, December 12 – Reviewed for the Unit 3 Test. Answered all questions in the review packet and answered any other questions on the material. Homework: study for tomorrow’s test!!

December 02 – December 06

Monday, December 02 – Daily bell work. Substitute – review work from the book to refresh our brains from our long holiday break! Triangle projects returned – corrections due on Wednesday.

Tuesday, December 03 – Daily bell work. Reviewed triangles in a coordinate plane – Pythagorean Theorem and distance formula. Time allotted for finishing packets and project corrections; both due tomorrow!

Wednesday, December 04 – Daily bell work. Today’s learning goals: I can divide a convex polygon into the correct number of triangles and I can use the polygon angle sum theory to find the sum of all angles in a given polygon. Homework worksheet given – be sure to divide the given polygons into the correct number of triangles! Homework and PPT linked below:

November 11 – November 15

Monday, November 11 – Daily bell work. Quizzes handed back – corrections due on Wednesday. Our initial look into proving the converses of our special angle theorems with parallel lines. Will continue our notes tomorrow. Homework – finish the “scrambled” proofs questions. Unit 2 Test on Friday.

Tuesday, November 12 – Daily bell work. Finished our lesson on constructing proofs to show that two lines are parallel (using converses). Homework: 3-5 Worksheet – solve for x to show the lines are parallel. Unit 2 Test on Friday.

Wednesday, November 13 – Daily bell work. Begin reviewing for our Unit 2 Test (which is on Friday!). Went through the “I can” statements and has students come to the board and write the answers to the questions. Homework: Unit 2 Review Guide.

November 4 – November 8

Monday, November 4 – Daily bell work. Quizzes handed back – corrections due on Wednesday. Continue proving our Chapter 2 Theorems – construct Theorem 2-3 for homework. Will continue our discussion Wednesday and talk about generic proofs.

Tuesday, November 5 – No school!

Wednesday, November 6 – Daily bell work. Went over Monday’s homework. Reviewed our special case angles with parallel lines and a transversal from last week. Notes and class practice problems. Homework, p. 131, #’s 5-8, 11-13.

Thursday, November 7 – Daily bell work. Worked in groups to solve different angle definition problems – groups present their answers. Notes and class practice problems. Homework: study for your quiz tomorrow!

Friday, November 8 – No bell work. Quiz #5. Extra practice with special case angles worksheet given after quiz completion. Finish as homework over the weekend. Have a great weekend!

October 28 – November 1

Monday, October 28 – Daily bell work. Quizzes handed back – corrections due on Wednesday. Checked in and went over Thursday and Friday’s homework. Began our discussion on geometric proofs. Will continue our discussion tomorrow and discuss certain angle theorems. No homework tonight.

Monday, October 21 – Daily bell work. Checked in and went over Friday’s homework. Continue section 2-1. Learning goal today: I can write the converse of a conditional and find its truth value. See PPT below for lesson. Homework assignment given: p. 84, #’s 19-35, 41-46.

Thursday, October 24 – Daily bell work. Reviewed answers to yesterday’s homework. Create a “flip-book” for our properties and theorems. Use the properties and theorems to write a mathematical proof – finish for homework if not completed in class.

Friday, October 25 – Week 6 quiz. After the quiz, we will practice using the properties and theorems we learned. Any work not finished in class is to be completed as homework. Have a great weekend!

Thursday, October 17 – Daily bell work. Students will be getting their unit 1 tests back today.  Students will then be doing test corrections as a separate assignment.  Chapter 7 vocabulary crossword when done – finish for homework.

Friday, October 18 – Daily bell work. Start of our new unit – Chapter 2. Discussion on Conditional Statements (2-1); Defining hypothesis and conclusion, writing conditionals, and giving counterexamples. Homework assigned: p. 83, #’s 1-18, 30-40, and 54-58.

Monday, October 07 – Daily bell work. Quizzes from last Friday returned. Quiz corrections are due by Wednesday, October 9th. Learning goal today: I can find the midpoint of a line segment. Homework assignment given (worksheet).

Tuesday, October 08 – Daily bell work. Review answers to yesterday’s homework. Today’s learning goals: I can correctly name an angle. I can recognize the difference between obtuse, acute, straight, and right angles. I can construct parallel and perpendicular lines by using slope. Angle and Equation Writing worksheet given as homework.

Wednesday, October 09 – Daily bell work. Review answers to yesterday’s homework. Review assignment for Unit 1 Exam given. Time to work on assignment, quiz corrections, and quiz make-ups. Also available for questions and answers. Quiz corrections due today! Angle and Line PowerPoint attached.
