Parent Meeting – Thank you!

Good morning! Thank you to everyone who came to our meeting yesterday! We know the new legislation may seem a little scary to some, but please remember that Mr. Higgins will be hosting many more parent meetings and workshops to help you help your child. If you would like a copy of your child’s current NWEA reading scores, please contact your child’s teacher. We’d be happy to share them with you. This is one of the assessments that will help determine if your child will able to move from 3rd to 4th grade when the time comes.

The office has copies of Mr. Higgin’s presentation if you would like an extra copy.

If you would like to read more about the new legislation, here is a helpful link: https://www.legislature.mi.gov/documents/2015-2016/publicact/pdf/2016-PA-0306.pdf

Parents, please continue to work with your children at home. If you received a parent contract at our November parent teacher conference, your child is already receiving extra intervention support as outlined in this bill. It is important for ALL parents to be reading and practicing NIGHTLY with their child.
