Starting June 1, patrons of all ages are invited to participate in the Dearborn Public Library’s summer reading program Imagine Your Story. Babies, children, teens, and adults can earn prizes by logging reading times and completing activity challenges. Visit https://dearbornlibrary.beanstack.org to get started. 

This year’s program will run through August 22. With current limited library services, prize winners will be contacted with instructions on how to pick up their prizes at a later date.  

Dearborn/Dearborn Heights residents who need library cards can apply for a temporary library card while the buildings remain closed in order to gain access to the library’s digital materials and databases. For more information on the library, please continue to check our website and follow us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).

Hello Geer Park Families,

As we wrap up the school year, the Geer Park Team would like to say farewell and happy summer to all our students. On Thursday, June 11th,  we will be having an “End of Year” (car ) parade for all families from 1-2pm. Beginning at 1:00 pm, our team will be standing in front of the school to wave goodbye to our students.
 We ask that everyone begins the drive Eastbound on Prospect as you pass the school.

There will be no stopping, but a continuous flow of traffic to accommodate all families as we wave goodbye. We hope to see you there!

On Tuesday, June 2nd, you will be able to pick up your child’s personal belongings from school.  In addition, you will receive your child’s year end certificates.  We are also asking that parents return some student items back to the school when they arrive.  For example, library books, LLI books, instruments & safety belts, etc. 

Please follow the established guidelines so we can ensure the safety of our students, parents, and staff members.  Please wear a mask during curbside pick-up.

Student Material Distribution – 

Student Material Distribution, Tuesday, June 2nd-

1.  Parents will enter the staff/visitor parking lot.  Please remember to stay in your car for curbside pick-up.
2. Student Personal Belongings will be distributed by staff members assigned to one of the  four locations adjacent to the parking lot.
3. Parents/Students will stay in their vehicles at all times. 
4. Please write your child’s full name on a sheet of paper and hand it to the staff member when you pull up.  Please write clearly and neatly. Thank you. 
5. Remember, if you have an item that needs to be returned, please label it and bring it to school at that time.  For example, library books, LLI books, instruments & safety belts, etc. 
6. We will be distributing belongings by last names.  It is important to come at the assigned times for quicker service.   Please see the times below:

   Last Name beginning with A:  10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

 Last Name beginning with B-M:  11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m 

Last Name beginning with N-Z:  12:00 p.m – 1:00 p.m.

Location:  Outside the main entrance.  Grade level tables will be set up.  Please walk up to the grade level table to pick up the materials.

Grade Level Times listed below:

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m :     All Grades: Young 5’s, Kindergarten, 1^st grade, 2^nd grade , 3^rd grade, 4^th grade, 5^th grade

It is recommended that only parents come to school to pick up their child’s materials.

It is recommended that parents wear a face mask when coming to pick up the materials.

Note:  “No personal belongings will be allowed to be picked up at this time”. Once we get notified on a future date for this to occur, we will share it with the parents.

Dearborn Schools offers a Free Preschool Program

GSRP is a free program for all eligible families and is designed to give a high quality preschool experience prior to Kindergarten. 

 Eligibility is primarily based on family income (federal poverty level), life experiences and child’s age.   If your child’s birth date is between December 2, 2015 to December 1, 2016, your child may qualify for this program.  

If you would like to be sent information about registration for the 2020-2021 school year please fill in the GSRP Interest Form 2020-2021 and someone will contact you as we start the registration process.
