This week we will be working on stroke efficiency and endurance by swimming for 12 continuous minutes M/W/F. On Tuesday and Thursday we will be participating in various games such as water polo, pom-pom, and the kickboard game.

Dec 19, 2016 Plastic Grocery Bag Donations Needed

If you have a stockpile of plastic grocery bags taking up space in your house, please consider donating them to the girls PE department. We use them every day to help students take home their wet bathing suits and towels and gym clothes. Thank you!

Dec 14, 2016 Swimming next week!

Mrs. Wancha’s classes will be swimming next week and the week we get back from winter break.

Dec 2, 2016 Dec. 5 – 16 All classes need gym clothes.

We will be meeting in the gym participating in a variety of station activities including rope climbing, traveling rings, ga-ga ball, fitness testing, jump rope, volleyball, basketball, etc.

Wancha’s classes will be swimming Dec. 19 – 23 and Jan. 9 – 13.

Nov 11, 2016 Next week – gym clothes for all classes

Next week my classes will meet in the cafeteria and will need gym clothes. Have a great weekend!

Nov 6, 2016 Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal

School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8^th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”

If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools.  Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years.  (more…)

Nov 2, 2016 Make-Up Swim tomorrow morning cancelled!

The scheduled before school make-up swim session is cancelled for tomorrow (Thursday). My daughter is really sick and I have to take her to the doctor I’m the morning. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Nov 1, 2016 Oct. 31 – Nov. 11 Basketball Unit & Make-Up Swim Dates

Students will learn and practice the various skills of basketball and apply those skills into games.

MAKE-UP SWIMS – If a student did not participate in any days of swimming for whatever reason, they may attend one or both make-up swim sessions to earn their points back. Students may earn credit for one missed day of swimming by completing 20 laps in the pool. Students may make-up up to 3 missed days in one swim session (60 laps completed = 3 missed days).

• Thursday Nov. 3rd – 7:00am
• Wednesday Nov. 9th – 3:00pm

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR DAUGHTER HAS BROUGHT HOME HER SWIM SUIT AND TOWEL. There are lots of bathing suits and towels left in the locker room. These items will be donated to charity if not picked up by Friday.

We are now accepting donations of plastic grocery bags for students to take home gym clothes, wet towels, and bathing suits. They would be much appreciated! Thank you!
