Student Schoology Orientation

Tomorrow morning the students will attend a Schoology Orientation meeting. I’m am scheduling these meetings for 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00. Your child will receive only one Zoom meeting link. I believe it will be easier to show small groups so that the students can ask questions and be ready for instruction.

I will send the Zoom links to the student email accounts. They will need to login in using their student number and password. When students login to the student account this is the screen they will see.

In order to join the orientation meeting tomorrow, they will need to go to their Student District Email/Google Login. The link is in the center of the screen. It is first under the Useful Links title.

Happy Last Day of School!

Some days it felt like this time would never come. Spring came late, it was cold and there were days and days without any sunshine. Remote learning has taught me my time in the classroom with the students was the most valuable part of my day. I really missed seeing all of the students so the individual and small group meetings were the best! During those virtual meetings I was able to teach again. Students learned to share their screens and demonstrate math skills mastery. They also learned to virtually solve problems together and use the white board tools. Team Johnson Rocks! I loved watching you learn and navigate the virtual meetings. I really enjoyed seeing your faces and hearing your voices again! Don’t stop reading!

Although remote learning was not anyone’s choice, I feel that as a class, we did learn and that is really what matters most. Thank you so much for all of your support at home. I believe Team Johnson grew stronger because parents and family members cared about student learning. Thank you for reading and responding to my Dojo messages and for asking questions when my directions were unclear.

I am reluctant to say goodbye so I’d like to keep the Class Dojo page open and the Class Story going until we see each other at school again. As you begin to travel and do fun things with your family and friends, please post your pictures to our class story. Stay safe! See you soon!

Remote Learning Update

The science quiz is available on the iLearn class now. Students need to complete the end of Mystery questions on the two video lessons that they should have already watched. The test will be available until Monday, June 8 at 6:00 pm.

I am going to school this morning to help return the students’ belongings so all of our scheduled meetings will be cancelled for today. I hope to see you later if you have not already been to school to get your things.

Pick up and drop off!

Tomorrow June 3 and Thursday, June 4 you may come to school to pick up your child’s things from school. I have emptied out desks and lockers and everything is ready for pick up.
Please check at home for student’s book bags and library books. When cleaning out the desks and lockers, I only found two purple book bags. Please return all purple book bags and the books I gave students just before we had to leave school. Also, please look for and return all library books at this time.
This will be a drive through system.
