ELA: spelling test on Friday. Students received words on MOnday and should be studying them each day.

MATH: Problem solving and study multiplication facts

 

PTA is having a Spring Dance

Thursday, March 29 from 5:00 – 6:30

5:00: doors open for pizza

5:30: Dance begins

Cost: $6.00 per person for pizza, juice and chips

Spring Picture Day is tomorrow, March 21, 2018: students have received the picture forms.

News for the Week of March 12, 2018

Bingo for Books: Monday at 5:30

Late Start: Wednesday, March 14, 2018

Our class will be shopping for school book fair on Thursday, March 15 at 10:30 am. Students were able to look today and have made a shopping list.

The end of the card marking is Friday, March 16. Conferences will be scheduled for next Thursday, March 22. I am sending notes and individual Class Dojo messages to schedule.

Homework:

ELA: continue to read and record the minutes on the reading log. I will collect it again on Friday, March 16.

Spelling test is Friday. Students received words today.

Social Studies: Unit Test is Friday. Each day students have brought home notes or handouts to read and study. Look for the study guide on Class Dojo.

It’s important to practice small amounts of information over a longer period oftime. No students should be waiting until Thursday night to study.

Homework for Friday, March 9, 2018

ELA: students are to read at least 30 minutes every day, including weekends. Record the title and minutes read on the Reading Log. Students will only receive one reading log for the entire month. Parents, please initial the reading log each day.

MATH: No homework

SOCIAL STUDIES: Students need to tosudy notes about state and federal government power and the article about the three branches of government. Questions 8-10 should be answered in the notebook also. The unit test will be Thursday or Friday. Watch for study guide information.
Next Friday is the last day of the marking period!

Book Fair

The Book Fair will be at River Oaks next week March 12 – March 16.

We will go to look on Monday, March 12 at 2:30.

Our shopping day is Thursday, March 15 at 10:30.

Schedule Update

The students have written in their planners that the math test will be Friday and that Science will be Thursday.

This is accurate. Tomorrow we will have the science quiz and on Friday we will take the math unit test.

I have posted both the science and math study guides with answers. Sorry if there was any confusion!

News for the week of March 5

This is a really busy week and month.

March is reading month and we are recording the minutes the students read. Our school wide goal is 35,000 minutes for the month. I know we can reach this goal if all students are reading at least 20 to 30 minutes each day. Students will receive a weekly tracking sheet and I can reward students who return it with a parent signature! Look for the tracking paper tomorrow.

Homework for this evening:

ELA: read 20 to 30 minutes each day and track the minutes. Parents need to sign weekly. The first day I will collect the paper is on Friday, March 9. This week will be a short one because of the snow day last week, but everyone should participate.

Spelling Bee!

Students have received the first list of spelling words to practice for the classroom spelling bee. On Friday, the winners of the classroom bee will receive the grade level word list. After the grade level spelling bee, the winners will participate in the school wide spelling bee.

Here’s the schedule:

Friday, March 9: classroom spelling bee

Friday, March 16: grade level spelling bee *Only the winners of the classroom bee will participate. 

Thursday, March 29: School wide spelling *Only the winners of the grade level spelling bees will participate.

StudyIsland and MobyMax assignments are to be completed before Monday, February 26.

All students have log in information. For MobyMax students need to go through the Dearborn schools site and Clever.
