We need your help!

River Oaks is currently registering students for the 2020-2021 school year for pre-school, kindergarten and young 5’s.  We need your help and getting this information out to all parents.  Please let me know the names of anyone that will be starting school this year at River Oaks.

Remote Learning Update

Today from 12:00 noon to 3:00 or tomorrow from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon the students’ learning materials will be available for you to pick up at River Oaks. Please make sure you get these items to help your child be successful for the rest of the year. We will use these for math and reading.

Quiz due dates extended to Wednesday at 5:00 pm: At this time only 8 students have completed the science quiz and 9 students have completed the math quiz. I have to have evidence of student learning for the end of the year report cards. These quizzes combined with the meetings I have scheduled with the students are the only ways I can collect the evidence. So, 11 students still need to take the science quiz and 10 still need to take the math. Both quizzes are in the iLearn class.

Remote Learning for May 4 -8

New assignments are posted in MobyMax today. These are the only assignments the students should be working on. Math lessons are links for Eureka Math videos, not MobyMax practice. Please send me a picture of your child’s completed math practice. I will post our meeting schedule later today. I will be at school helping with the learning materials that will be passed out tomorrow and Wednesday.

Remote Learning Update

It’s always a bit loud when all of the students join a meeting. This is why I will only use it for a fun gathering. Small group instruction and individual student meeting will start again next week. I will post the schedule for individual meetings on Monday. The days and times will be the same as the last meeting. I will communicate with you about a small group time for your child

Good news, we have learning materials ready for you to pick up at school. The student’s math workbooks, Ready Common Core Workbooks and a selection of other school supplies can be picked up at school on Tuesday, May 5 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm or on Wednesday, May 6 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Please come and get these resources during the scheduled times.

This will be a drive through pick up. All we ask is that you open a window or the trunk and the learning materials for your River Oaks students will be placed in the car. After students have these materials, I will let you know how we will use them for the rest of the school year.
Thank you for all of your help at home! Have a wonderful weekend!!

Remote Learning Update

Yay! I am prepared to safely have meetings with the students again. In order to participate, all students need to enroll in my iLearn class. I have a video with directions to make it really easy for the students. Check it out so that we can begin video virtual meetings again!

Remote Learning Update

I am working really hard to be ready to begin individual meetings and small group lessons. As soon as I receive permission to begin, I’ll be ready. We’ll be using a new format but it will be easier for everyone and we’ll be able to do so much more.
I hope you are well and safe and that your children continue to work on the lessons that were assigned on Monday. At the end of each day, I review the MobyMax lessons and reassign the ones the students need to pass with 80% or better.

Remote Learning for the Week of April 27, 2020

Good morning parents,
Beginning this week, assignments will not be posted here. Students will see all assignment information on MobyMax.
Here are two really important reminders: if students earned less than 80% on the MobyMax reading, opinion writing or Our Democracy lessons, it is on their assignment page again. This is not a mistake. In order to progress to the next lesson, they need 80% or better.
The only math the students are working on is the video lessons from Eureka Math. The links for the lessons are in the announcements/tasks section. All assignments for the week are there.
On Friday, May 1, 2020 they will have a science quiz.
If students did not complete the Google Classroom main idea and social studies assignments that will be marked in the grade book. Once the due date passes the students will not have the chance to complete. For that reason, I extended all the due dates pass Friday, but that time is up now.
