As you know the plan for continued learning has been developed and the expectations for teachers and students have changed. The district is working on the information for students and parents at this time. As soon as I have access to that information, I will share it with you.
There are two major changes that will take place beginning the week of Monday, April 20. First, I will need to meet, virtually or by telephone, with each student at least twice a week to discuss their progress and check for understanding of new content. Report cards and grades are still required so I will need to have data that supports evidence of student learning. Second, students will need to participate in specific virtual lessons for new content. The biggest change in remote learning is that content is no longer just a review of previously taught information but is based on fourth grade learning objectives that have not been taught.
So, today I will begin phone conferences with all families in order to schedule meeting times that work for your family schedule. During the phone conferences I can also answer questions about accessing content information. Students will need to be able to login to their Dearborn Schools accounts and our Google Classroom and MobyMax via the Clever link.
