Welcome to Fourth Grade

on August 26, 2019

Well, our first day is over and I am looking forward to a great year. I’ve sent home notes in the students’ green folders. Please check the folder daily to see homework assignments and important notes from school.

There is one form to complete and send back to school tomorrow. I have included the questions to help me get to know your child. Most importantly, please let me know your preferred method of communication. Send the completed paper back as soon as you are able.

I am so happy that your child is a fourth grade student in my classroom. I am looking forward to a busy, productive and fun school year. The beginning of the year can be stressful for all of us as we learn about each other and create a positive learning community. In order to ease some of the worry, I’d like to share some information about myself. Although this is my fourth year at River Oaks, this is my fifteenth year teaching! I have taught fourth, fifth and sixth grade in the past and am thrilled to be part of the fourth grade team. I have a large family, three daughters, two step sons and five granddaughters. My dog Sophie is my favorite pet. When I have free time I enjoy sewing, knitting and reading.

It is important that we start the new school year on the right foot. I expect that all students will put forth his or her best effort every day by participating in class and by completing all in class and homework assignments. In order to make my classrooms the best place for everyone to learn, I will ensure that the students are safe and are provided with exciting opportunities to explore new ideas and ask questions. In addition, I need your help! As a team we can help and encourage your child to achieve great things. Students should come to school on time and be prepared to work every day.
