Dearborn Public Schools Universal Elementary PE & Health Blog
Hello all. The district has created a wonderful elementary school PE blog with all kinds of useful information regarding staying active as well as nutrition ideas. I have attached the link on the right side of my blog page under class links.
Mr. V’s Office Hours
During the course of this global pandemic and being away from school, I will be available as a support network for all of my students and am only a click of a button away. If any of you have questions about physical activity ideas to be performed at home (with or without equipment) and/or health related questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. Feel free to message me via classroom dojo, blog messaging, or email – vigilam@dearbornpublicschools.org
For a more immediate response I have set up office hours from 9:30-11:30am on Monday’s and Wednesdays where I will always be available for quick correspondence.
I hope everybody is healthy, staying active, and staying strong! This too, shall pass.
Move and Freeze
Try this one out for a little 5 minute brain… You may think it is easy, but as the song progresses it may get a bit more complicated. Good luck!!

Physical Activity Game Breaks
Elementary:
2 person parachute – use a large bath towel and have the kids hold both sides of one end. Use a few items (not breakable) and have them try to flip them from the towel into a bucket, hoop, trash can, etc.
Elementary/Middle:
Fitness Tic-Tac-Toe – any multiple of 2 – Have the kids start at a line and then set up a tic-tac-toe board about 10-20 yards away. Have something to use as “their pieces” to mark on the board. Say “GO” and they will run back and forth with one piece to place on the board each round. They can also run without a piece and move their opponents piece somewhere else.
