Happy Birthday Samah!!

Literacy Activity (10 minutes):  Read a book to your Mrs. Vasas cutout.  Send Mrs. Vasas a picture of you sitting and reading with the cutout.

Math Activity (10 minutes):  Measure how tall the Mrs. Vasas cutout is.  Lay cubes next to the cutout (like in the picture) to see how long it is.  Send a picture to Mrs. Vasas of the cutout and the cubes to show how long it is.

Play Activity/Work Time (1 hour or more):

Start (Plan): Ask your child “What would you like to do today?”

Play (Do): Allow your child to play for at least 1 hour of free play time with their toys (no screens-no TV, no tablets).  It is important for your child to have time to be creative and use their imagination.

Clean-Up: Provide a warning before it is time for your child to clean up, so they can bring an end to their play.  Then have them clean up, or help clean up, the toys they were playing with.  It should not be your job to clean up after your child.

End (Review): Ask your child “What did you do today?”

*Mention what they told you at the start and see if they did do that or if they chose to do something different.  It is ok if they change their mind and do something different.*

Extra Activity (10 minutes):  Practice cutting, choose a cutting sheet from the worksheet packet for your child to complete or draw lines on a piece of paper (like in the picture below) and have your child cut on the lines.

Today Ms. Unis and I will be calling all families. We will be talking with you about logging into your child’s school email. We will be using this log in information in order to have our class meetings from now on. We will be calling starting around 10:00 until the afternoon. If an unknown number or blocked number calls, please answer it because it will probably be me or Mrs. Unis.

I have included some learning websites with the activities as well. I have had parents asking for more to do so I put those there just as extra, if wanted or needed. You do not have to go to those websites if you do not want to.

Start (Plan): Ask your child “What would you like to do today?”
Play (Do): Allow your child to play for at least 1 hour of free play time with their toys (no screens-no TV, no tablets).  It is important for your child to have time to be creative and use their imagination.
