Main Idea: Journal writing and number counting
Literacy Activity (10 minutes): Journal writing – school is getting close to ending. Talk with your child about what they miss from school. Have them write ‘I miss _________ at school.’ (Send Mrs. Vasas a picture of their journal page)
Math Activity (10 minutes): Watch the dice counting video I made. Have your child count along with me with the dice I have. Your child can draw the dots along with me and write the numbers with me. (Send Mrs. Vasas a picture of the dots and numbers)
Challenge: Find dice at your house and have your child roll the dice and count. They can roll one and count numbers 1-6, roll two and count numbers 7-12, roll 3 and count numbers 13-18.
Challenge: Introduce your child to addition and have your child roll 2 dice then add the numbers together.

Play Activity/Work Time (1 hour or more):
Start (Plan): Ask your child “What would you like to do today?”
Play (Do): Allow your child to play for at least 1 hour of free play time with their toys (no screens-no TV, no tablets). It is important for your child to have time to be creative and use their imagination.
Clean-Up: Provide a warning before it is time for your child to clean up, so they can bring an end to their play. Then have them clean up, or help clean up, the toys they were playing with. It should not be your job to clean up after your child.
End (Review): Ask your child “What did you do today?”
*Mention what they told you at the start and see if they did do that or if they chose to do something different. It is ok if they change their mind and do something different.*
Extra Activity (10 minutes): Play red light, green light with your child or children. Tell them a movement to do (jump up and down, spin around, touch your toes, walk around the room, anything you can think of) then say green light for them to go. Say red light for them to stop. You can add in yellow light and then they have to do the movement slowly.
