Remember: even though I am sharing more than one activity, you only have to do one. If you want to do more than one activity, do only one activity at a time. Do not push your child to do too much at one time. These are activities for you to enjoy time together, not to fight over learning.

Ms. Unis and I are here for you if you need us! Please reach out to us about anything you need. We are all in this together. Send a message through Remind, even if it is Arabic, and Ms. Unis or I can respond. We will be available to answer you during normal school days and hours; Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-3:00 pm. If you message before or after those times, we will answer you the next day during those times.

Main Idea Names
Literacy Activity
(10 minutes)
Have your child write their name 5 times, in 5 different colors if you have them.
*Make sure your child writes their first letter uppercase and all other letters lowercase.*
Challenge: Have your child also write their last name 5 times in 5 colors.
Challenge: Have your child write names of family members; mom, dad, brothers, sisters, cousins.
Math Activity
(10 minutes)
Have your child read or write their name on a sheet of paper.  Count how many letters are in their name, write that number on the paper.
Challenge: Have your child count all the number of letters in their first name and last name together, writing that number on the paper.
Challenge: Have your child count letters in other names, like brothers and sisters.  Compare the number of letters in everyone’s name and talk about whose name has the most letters and whose name has the least letters.
Play Activity
(Work Time)
(1 hour or more)
Start (Plan): Ask your child “What would you like to do today?”
Play (Do): Allow your child to play for at least 1 hour of free play time with their toys (no screens-no TV, no tablets).  It is important for your child to have time to be creative and use their imagination.
Clean-Up: Provide a warning before it is time for your child to clean up, so they can bring an end to their play.  Then have them clean up, or help clean up, the toys they were playing with. It should not be your job to clean up after your child.
End (Review): Ask your child “What did you do today?” *Mention what they told you at the start and see if they did do that or if they chose to do something different.  It is ok if they change their mind and do something different.*
Extra Activity
(10 minutes)
Spell your child’s name and have them do the movements that are listed next to each letter in their name.  They can also do movements of the spelling of other people’s names; brothers, sisters, friends, and cousins.
