Hello everyone:

MYON ISSUES: If you have been struggling with signing into Myon at home I received this response from Ms. Hanson, our school technology rep.

*I tested myon using clever on my son’s iPad, and it worked. I could not get the app to work, I just went through safari to the website.

One thing the parents have to look at is who is logged into google. If the parent is logged in, or another sibling on the computer, clever can’t access the students account. We may want suggest they try a different browser like Firefox or explorer to get to the DPS website and log in.

And they have to put in 20xxxxxx@dearbornschools.org

She also mentioned that if you still can’t get on she is here Mondays and can show you how to sign on.  She teaches a class in the media center until 3:30 but is able to show you what to do after that.  You can call or email her to double check that she can meet with you.

Happy Wednesday:

Today we had a very successful picture day.  The homework for tonight is:

1. Practice your math flash cards- each student wrote down the number of facts that got right in the 3 minute drill today in class.  The goal is for the student to get more than that correct next week.  Our next mad minute will take place next week so keep practicing 🙂  I would love to see more second graders phase out of addition and into subtraction and multiplication.
2. Spelling activities for the week are due tomorrow.  Make sure your child has completed 4 different activities on the spelling Bingo sheet.

1. Complete number line addition homework. It’s due tomorrow.

Here is the ONLINE study guide I created for the social studies unit we have been covering for September and October.  We are finishing up the unit this week and we will be reviewing next week.  We are going to be learning about government this week and its role in the community.

1. Practice math flash cards-I gave the first timed addition mad minute last week and only 1 student timed out of addition.  We want more students to master addition so practice for 15 minutes tonight.
2. Read for 20 minutes.

Homework this weekend:

1. Return the reading log for mid-September/Mid-October.  It’d due Monday.  The three students who read the most will get a certificate 🙂  They brought home their new reading log today- this is for mid-October/mid-November.

Hello Everyone:

Homework today is the following:

1. Practice math flash cards- addition and subtraction.
2. Finish weekly spelling activities- all 4 spelling activities are due tomorrow!

Tomorrow at 9:00 AM is the MANDATORY parent meeting.  It will last 1 hour and will take place in our classroom.

Every student was able to log into Myon today at school.  Their username and passwords were sent home in September.  If you have lost yours and need me to write it down again please send me an email or a message.  If you are experiencing problems at home still make sure your child is signing in by going through CLEVER on the district web page.  It doesn’t work otherwise.

Parents Thursday is the mandatory parent meeting- it will be from 9:00-10:00 in our classroom.  Please make a point of attending.

We are doing a can drive in support of Fordson High school’s Battle Against Hunger. Please bring in cans or a can to donate OR you could also donate money instead- $1.00 can get a needy family 4 cans of food.  Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
