We are excited to share with you the brand-new website for the 14th Arab Film Festival (AFF), which begins Friday, June 7. View the complete schedule and purchase tickets, four-packs and full-festival passes now at www.aanmfilmfest.org.
This year’s festival offers more than 15 premieres; four programs of short films including one that’s kid-friendly followed by crafts and games; and a curated selection of the best Arab and Arab American films of various genres from the international festival circuit.
Among the titles are Nadine Labaki’s highly acclaimed drama Capernaum; 2018 Cannes Film Festival darling Yomeddine; another Cannes award-winning film, Sofia; and Dunya’s Day, a short film that won a Jury Award at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
The Arab American National Museum’s 14th annual Arab Film Festival brings the perspective of marginalized voices to the fore. This year’s curated selection of films explores stories related to home, community and diaspora. All AFF films are subtitled in English.
Most screenings take place at the Aliya Hassan Auditorium at the Arab American National Museum, with additional screenings at the Detroit Film Theatre at Detroit Institute of Arts and the State Theatre in Ann Arbor.
During the festival, use these hashtags to let us know via social media what films you enjoyed: #aanmfilmfest19 and #supportarabfilm. You can also complete ballots on site to vote for your favorite films in various categories.
See you at the AFF!
