– Students must join scheduled live sessions on time.
– Attendance will be taken during the first 5 minutes of class. If you are late to class more than 3 times in a semester, you will have to make up the time you missed during learning lab/office hours in the afternoon, on a day you have my class. This does not mean you may come to class during the first 5 minutes of class and not be tardy. You are expected to be in the waiting room by the start of class to be on time. Please reference your schedule for class start and end times.
– If you do not attend a live session, you will be marked absent. The same applies for instruction in the afternoon.
– If you do not log in and complete assigned work in Schoology by the end of class you will be marked absent.
– During a live session, students must be dressed in school appropriate attire. Students should not look as though they just woke up. As they do when face-to-face teaching and learning is in effect, students must wash up, change their clothes and position themselves in a place that supports their learning.
– Take a look at your video BEFORE joining the video conference. Make sure that everything in the video (especially the background) is appropriate.
When you enter the conference, mute yourself (if you are already not muted.)
– When you have a question, type in the chat box and wait for your teacher to call on you (if the chat room is enabled by the teacher).
– When you have something to contribute to the discussion, but it is not your turn, use the chat feature in the right-hand corner (when the chatroom is enabled by the teacher).
– If the chat room is disabled and you have feedback to offer, use the non-verbal feedback icons bar to signal your teacher.
– Wait for the teacher to call on you to unmute yourself.
– Only one student should contribute/talk at a time.
– Look into the camera when you are talking.
– Stay attentive. Pay attention to your teacher or other students who are speaking.
– Students must be fully present during the entirety of the scheduled live session. Leaving the session for reasons not permitted by the teacher could result in removal from the session and the requirement to make up lost class time during learning lab/office hours.
– Student phones should be put away during a live session.
– Students will periodically be assigned to work in break out rooms. During these times, students are expected to discuss only material relevant to the classroom and work on their assigned tasks.
– During asynchronous instruction, in the afternoon, you are to be logged into and actively working on assignments in my class in Schoology. If you are not in working during your hour in the afternoon, you will be marked absent, and, immediately, a call home will be made.
