Hello!
For those of you who don’t know me yet, my name is Mrs. Tate and I’ll be finishing out the science year in the wake of Mrs. Gleed’s retirement. Although I am a long term substitute, I taught 8th grade science last year, November through the end of school in June. I loved it so much, I’m currently studying to take the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification exam so I can get certified and have my OWN classroom.
We’re currently taking refuge under a HUGE umbrella of uncertainty. I myself have never been part of a pandemic, so WE ARE MAKING HISTORY and no one said it would be easy! I was in our classroom for exactly 6 days. I was still having kids catch up on missing work and getting to know the various students and personalities. I will warn you that I’ve never been responsible for a Google Classroom, nor a school iBlog, but here we are!
I will be piggybacking on Mr. Baerwald’s lessons, as he has his own 7th grade science classes, he is a very experienced teacher and coincidentally, ALSO the head of the science department at Smith. We are in good hands. That said, I would ask that you be patient with me. Both Google Classroom and iBlog are unfamiliar to me from the teaching side, but I’m learning! Mr. Baerwald does a lot with his students online already and between that and a whole new science curriculum from last year, I have some catching up to do.
I will be posting another assignment for the students to work on, as soon as I know how! If you should have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at tatem@dearbornschools.org.
Take care and stay healthy,
Mrs. Tate
