8th Grade:

  • Bellwork: Define axis in your own words.
    • An imaginary line drawn through Earth from its rotational North pole to its rotational South pole.
  • Planner: Eclipse Article Annotations in CLG & Revised whiteboard Drawings.
  • Homework: Study for short quiz tomorrow.

8th Grade:

  • Bellwork: Write a list of norms for entering the classroom and doing bellwork. Then define Eclipse in your own words.
    • Occur when the Earth or the moon temporarily blocks sunlight from reaching the other object.
  • Planner: Eclipse drawings & Article.
  • Homework: Annotate & Summarize the Eclipse Article. We will have a short quiz on what we have learned so far in our solar system unit on Friday. Topics to study include: gravitational force, day & night, seasons, solstices & equinoxes. Review your vocabulary in your bellwork as well as any handouts you may have from our space unit.

    • A solstice is the longest or shortest day of the year. When the Earth is pointed most toward the sun, or farthest away from the sun.
