- Dividing Fractions Word Problems
Also, study the Equations and Expressions vocabulary using the quizlet under class links on my blog. We will have a vocabulary test soon after break.

Number System: We took our first SLOT quiz on division of fractions and mixed numbers.
Equations and Expressions: We worked in stations in order to evaluate expressions with expressions in word problems, using versatiles, playing a game called “Fidgety Digits,” making connections to area in a foldable and on Khan Academy.

I sent home a note for a number of students today because they did not have their Khan Academy minutes completed for this week. Please check planners to see if they have a note.
Khan Academy skills are assigned on a weekly basis with a minimum of 30 minutes to complete each week.

Equations and Expressions: We completed analyzing the genie problem and determined the magical coin would be the best choice because the exponential expression we created for the 28th day was much more than 50,000!
We worked in small groups on a similar exponent problem. This CER is due Friday. Attached are three versions based on group color.
Complete 20 minutes on Khan Academy this week with the skill, “Exponents.”
Bring math textbook to class tomorrow and every day from now on because we will be using the book for this unit more often than we did for Geometry.

Number Systems: We are subtracting fractions and mixed numbers in S.L.O.T
Equations and Expressions: We completed our Geometry unit and took our district common assessment Friday.
We are looking at exponents and exponential growth. Today, we worked with a partner to determine what offer would be best to take from a genie. 50,000 gold coins or one magical coin that doubles for 28 days!?
Homework is to clean out the Unit 2/Geometry section in our binder. Khan Academy this week is only 20 minutes and the skill assigned is “Exponents.”

Geometry: We sorted real-world scenarios according to volume or surface area and described why.
Homework is to complete a study guide on volume, surface area and prisms and pyramids. The district test is tomorrow.
